Re: Rodgers future
Rodgers is 33.5m and yes he did justify his contract because he won the MVP I understand your nit-picky technicality about both salary and MVP awards being based on regular season and play-offs and Superbowls don't count for either. But as a football fan, they count for me. The team game the one in...

Re: Rodgers future
Again, no, the offense did not do enough. Gaslighting this will not happen. Did the packers Off score more points than the 49ers Off? If we say the packers off didn't do enough to overcome the horrible special teams, either did the def. The packers off was closer to their season average points per ...

Re: Rodgers future
Come on man ... did the Packers average 13 points a game? The offense has to score more points than the opposing offense In the playoffs, yes. The Packers offence, in 2021 season playoff games, got us into position to average exactly 13 points per game. And the Packers, as a team averaged the lowes...

Re: Rodgers future
Yeah which is the coach's problem. Play concept. Are we talking about the first read of the called play or the first read of the QB? I am talking about the primary option of the play. MLF said 90% of all play concepts are based on Adams being the primary option. THe intention of the play is to get ...

Re: Rodgers future
If I'am picking 12 in the draft I want someone that can contribute soon in there first year, obviously I expect them to improve for several years after that to reach there ceiling, to wait for 3 years on every draft pick to develop as a quality starter translates to always being in rebuild mode, so...

Re: Do we even want Rodgers back?
Honestly yoop - every team since 2010 who won the SB was with a QB who was either Tom Brady (who always took below his market worth), a QB on a modest deal either moving up his career or scaling down (Aaron Rodgers, Peyton Manning, Joe Flacco, Eli Manning) or on a rookie deal (Russell Wilson, Carso...

Re: Do we even want Rodgers back?
The average defense Brady had in the years he won his Super Bowls was 17.9 ppg during the year. If you add up all the games during that time period of all the teams and see what the winning percentage is for all teams, QB doesn't matter, it's right around 85%. I know, I did the math on this about 2...

Re: Rodgers wants out
I feel like MLF played PR yesterday. "We want Aaron back... (but)". Today I feel like AR played PR. "I will make a decision soon (by the time the Packers make a decision on Davante Adams)". That is me reading between the lines. It seemed more like "I will make an early deci...

Re: Do we even want Rodgers back?
Okay but he played better than the opposing qbs in the two most recent losses. I guess it doesn't matter. I'd say you guess right. Jimmy Garoppolo led his team to 6 points with 2 field goals, both coming off short fields. There is a large gap between "better than a man who scored 6 points"...

Re: Rodgers wants out
Definitely reminiscence of Favre. Later dude. There was one huge (IMO) difference between Favre and Rodgers. (OK, lots of differences, but one I want to concentrate on.) Favre was absolutely Packers through and through. It never occurred to him that he wouldn't be a Packer until he retired, and it ...

Re: Do we even want Rodgers back?
Brady has had 16, including this year. But I have been told that doesn't matter in the long run. I was told that the QB makes the defense better. But I have to wonder, why does it only pertain to Brady, Montana, and Young? And oh yeah, in SF during Montana/Young years, 15 out of 18 years. I bet you...

Re: Do we even want Rodgers back?
I believe Brady would tell you he laid an egg at Lambeau last January but his team still won. But he still scored points. You have a better chance of victory with 3 TDs and 4 Ints than you do with 1 TD and 58 yards total offence in the second half. We could have picked a couple of dozen QBs who cou...

Re: 2020 Post-Morten
Couple of things need to happen if Rodgers is coming back: Drayton needs to be fired. You have to get a playmaker WR/TE in the first round. Everything else is really there. Seriously. I think that's why people need to stop making excuses for Rodgers. Drayton needs to be fired full stop. Regardless ...

Re: Do we even want Rodgers back?
Who would we say are the two greatest QBs over the past 20 years or so? Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers. Who has more MVP awards? Probably Rodgers 4-3, assuming this year's award is as expected. Who has more Superbowl rings? Vrady, 7-1. Why? Brady has that total intangible - he can do what it takes to w...

The year is 2023. Love has started 18 games in his career. in 2022, love started every game and went 4-13. No evaluations have been made about Love yet. In start one, he was on the road. For 9 games of 2022 he was on the road, so it is not fair to evaluate him in those games, environment too hostil...

Re: Rodgers wants out
The Packers have had Favre and Rodgers for 30 years and only got 2 Superbowls out of it. Packers have had Rodgers for the past decade and never even reached a Superbowl. You need far more than elite QB play. And to make the same point the other way round, Rex Grossman has started as many Superbowls...

Who is to assume that JK would want to punt for a team that cut him? Minimum salary is what, $50k per week? you'd need an awful lot of hurt feelings (and many more millions in the bank than Scott has, I dare say) to turn down $50k for a day's practice and then having to kick a ball three or four ti...

Re: Rodgers wants out
I think too much is being made of Love's apparently poor start to his career. Certainly in the Kansas City game, he looked like a man who has never faced an NFL blitz in his life. But there are two possible reasons for that, one being that he is no good, and the perhaps more likely one being that he...
