Re: Rank the Roster 2024: #18

I would also point out that injuries sometimes help decide this. I would argue that none of David Bakhtiari, Corey Linsley, or Elgton Jenkins were preferred starters their rookie years. Their path to the starting line-up was created by injuries to Bulaga, Tretter, and Lane Taylor, respectively.

Re: Rank the Roster 2024: #18

I don't know what Jordan Morgan will become, but just paging through modern Packers history for 1st-round OT's, here is what you find. By my count, that is 0/5 1st-round picks who were Day 1 starters. So, yeah, I do think Gute drafted Morgan for the long-term with very little expectation as to what ...

Doubs and Kraft, then LVN and the OTs and CBs.

It is too soon to commit that kind of money to him. It's the going rate. Even re-setting the market, he will be not be on top for long. Teams that are afraid to make the investment at QB are teams that are going to be perpetually spinning their wheels. Also looking back at Packers history, Favre go...

Don't know if this has been talked about. But when, if ever, will you start to worry about Love not having a new deal.

For the record, I'm not in the least bit concerned yet.
It should get hammered out before TC. There is no reason not to get it done by then.

Re: Cheese Curds - News Around the League 2024

What really got me was the arbitrary nature of when they would call for a measurement, sometimes during 2-minute situations with the game on the line. It was like a free time out. Sometimes they would measure out a full yard short. Sometimes they would not measure for a few inches. This absolutely h...

Re: Rank the Roster 2024: #15

I can appreciate the point being raised by @TheSkeptic regarding getting these younger players some snaps so they gain experience. We all want these guys to be prepared should they be called upon in the chase for a title. What I'm not understanding is how that argument translates to value or merit ...

Re: Rank the Roster 2024: #15

Preston started over LVN and Enagbare in OTAs a few days ago, so I question the accuracy of these 99% and 50% odds. Sure this could change by Week 1 but it doesn't bode well for your prediction. Goodness, @TheSkeptic. Some of these takes you are posting are baffling. You think Preston Smith is EDGE...

Re: Rank the Roster 2024: #15

99% chance that LVN is the starting DE opposite Gary on opening day and the rest of the season, baring injury to either Gary or LVN. 50% chance that Enagbare is ahead of Preston too. Preston at 31 years old is in his inevitable decline. And yet Preston is off the board and Engabare is not getting a...

Re: Rank the Roster 2024: #15

Doubs and Musgrave. I had voted for Tucker Kraft in the last round, but missing all of OTA's and potentially some of TC with the pec injury I think unfortunately sets him back a bit. I expect Musgrave runs with the opportunity. Kraft will still be important, but I think this helps Musgrave's case fo...

All of the news and notes over the course of the offseason, Offense, Defense, and Special Teams... I don't know if I am more excited about anything other than the new strength and conditioning staff and the changes they are implementing.

Re: Cheese Curds - News Around the League 2024

The team lost but two players played particularly bad. That was Love and the other was Savage. Love I expect to be better. Savage is gone, finally. You might want to take another look at Jonathan Owens. He was even worse than Savage. If ever a game dictated blowing up the Safety room, this was clea...

Re: Rank the Roster 2024: #14

Oh write this view was a blowout. Looks like the end is a tier I am a little surprised by that. I think many voters need to see it to believe it, but when voting for 2024, I am considering the progression arrow much more strongly. I will not be surprised at all if, come December, Cooper is our best...
