Re: Rank the Roster 2020: #3
Agree Waldo Jones was special. But in 2020 if Jones goes down I back LeFleur to use some combo of Dillion, Jamaal, Dexter and Ervin (combined with Rodgers) to score some points. If Bak goes down I don't see how we replace him, or how Rodgers has time to throw (he needs it) and so our season is like...

Re: Rank the Roster 2020: #3
I realize we just drafted Dillon, but he's a rookie. MLF is likely going to ride his stallion hard, especially if this is likely to be his last year on the team. Jones is still an ascending player. And this is his contract year. If they don't plan to resign him, GB is much, much better off getting J...

Re: Rank the Roster 2020: #3
Went bak. I know he had a down year but he is really important to this team. If he went down its bad news. I get the jones vote but it would hurt way more if we lost bak over jones. Did you see our offense with Williams as the lead back? Yikes. 3 plays and a punt, over and over. Y'all are seriously...

Re: Rank the Roster 2020: #3
The problem with judging it all on 'production' is it rather ignores those humble OL that help the QB, RB and WR get that 'production'. The offense was waaaaay more productive with Jones in the lineup than Willams. But I don't have a good way to quantify that, PFR's play index tools don't have anyt...

Re: Rank the Roster 2020: #3
I'm going Davante. Another potential All Pro, carrying his position. I think Jones' value is a bit artificially inflated by how often we used him in the red zone and padded his TDs. Adams missed 4 games and only had 90 fewer yards than him. ? Davante had 997 yd and 5 TD, 2 fumbles, on 83 touches Jo...

Re: Rank the Roster 2020: #3
This has to be Aaron Jones. Not only was he far and away GB's most potent weapon and led the NFL in TD's (I believe he set a franchise record too), he also showed he has a vast amount of mostly untapped receiving potential. I expect to see his role as a pass catcher greatly expanded in 2020, both in...

Rank the Roster 2020: #3
Rank The Roster: 2020 Edition 1. Aaron Rodgers (48%) [--] 2. Za'Darius Smith (70%) [ +5 ] 3. Current Percent of vote the winner got will be in parenthesis, position change vs. 2019 will be in brackets. Here's how this works: Each day there is a new thread/poll, starting at #1, on down to whereever ...

Re: Rank the Roster 2020: #2
Number 3 is much harder. Bakh had a down year (by his lofty standards) but he's still one of the best tackles in the league. Jones had an elite year, however, he still has trouble pass-blocking. Should I even care that he can't pass block that well when he's such a weapon? :idn: I thought he was ex...

Re: 2020 UDFA Signings
Where the waters get muddy is if the NFL/NCAA will agree that no NCAA football season in 2020 means a change in eligibility. This is where I think there has to be some action if the season is cancelled. Because players are stuck between a rock and a hard place. If they lose 2020 and gain and extra ...

Re: Matt LaFleur's Offense
Lots of raw data but some things stand out: MLF didn't run it as much as the elite variants of his offense. I'm guessing he's targeting 475 or so carries, an increase of 4 per game from where they were. He also passed more than elite variants of his offense. I'm guessing he wants it closer to 525 pa...

Breaking out the passing distribution (targets) of the four 500+ pt Shanahan WCO variants (plus the 49ers last year) 2016 Falcons (540 pts): WR1 - 129 WR2 - 81 RB1 - 65 WR3 - 50 RB2 - 40 WR4 - 32 TE1 - 31 2018 Rams (527 pts): WR1 - 130 WR2 - 117 RB1 - 81 WR3 - 55 WR4 - 53 FB/HB - 50 TE1 - 34 1994 49...

Re: Rank the Roster 2020: #2
Jones or Za'Darius here. Maybe Bak is worth the tail end of this tier? I'm leaning Jones. Both took over games last year and dominated. Both could be even better this year. Its cool that highlights are so easy to post here. Next up? Savage or King maybe. Is Lazard the 2nd receiver off the board?

Re: Round 3 (94) - Josiah Deguara, TE Cincinnati
People do have to remember that the H back role in the modern sense was basically invented by Shanahan; Shannon Sharpe was the original modern H back.
That is ultimately what Shanahan tree coaches are looking for out of the position.

Re: Matt LaFleur's Offense
Some stats about the best of each variant. (Its notable that Hackett was NOT 49ers OC, he was passing game coordinator, Walsh didn't have an OC, Hackett/McCarthy's running game is rooted in Martyball moreso than Walsh's, Hackett's branch wouldn't really be a branch without Mac) Hackett Variant: 2011...

Re: Matt LaFleur's Offense
There are 3 primary branches of the original WCO; the Hackett variant, the Holmgren variant, and the Shanahan variant. Interestingly MLF closes the loop, now all 3 have been in GB. Obviously Holmgren brought high variant with him. Holmgren's variant tends to be what people think of when they think W...

Re: Analyze QB Jordan Love 1(26) yourself
My impression of Waldo's comment is that I'am a long term member here just as Hauschild was a long term member at FF, at least that was my take. Long time member, heavy poster, tend to squabble a fair amount, quite opinionated, older than the average poster. Also, you are the pretty much the one mo...
