Re: Round 1 (26) - Jordan Love, QB Utah State
It's just not smart from cap management perspective aswell. You want a rookie qb to sit a max of 1 year. This way you get play out of them for 5 years before they have a ridiculous cap hit. If we go from Rodgers to Love after 4 or 5 years we get no time to stock up and invest in other positions. No...

Re: Round 1 (26) - Jordan Love, QB Utah State
Serious question though: Would Rodgers be a better mentor than Favre? If we're honest with ourselves, I don't think so. We're bias as fans go, but rumor or not... I just do not see Rodgers in that role at all. Someone asked AR how he would feel if GB takes a QB and he said he'd treat that kid a hel...

Re: Round 1 (26) - Jordan Love, QB Utah State
And have no recollection of people wanting Ted's head for drafting Rodgers. :rotf: Memory must be short, but I don't. Are you kidding me? Ted was absolutely hated for the pick (oh the "fond" memories of being called a TTard for not hating the pick). As much as people ragged on Ted...

Re: Round 1 (26) - Jordan Love, QB Utah State
Only ones that matter at this point. SO incorrect. The cap implications also play a HUGE role in this, plus the fact that we $%@# TRADED UP!!! The cap implications loomed for the Pats, too. Maybe not to the exact same extent, but they sure did. And the trade up and where they were drafted is, at th...

Re: Round 1 (26) - Jordan Love, QB Utah State
GB has:
A top 5 WR
A top 5 RB
A top 5 LT (top 10 OL in general)
DPOY caliber pass rusher
Top 5 NT
GB has top 5 players in the WR1, RB, LT trifecta, yet somehow can barely muster an adequate offense many weeks.

Re: Round 1 (26) - Jordan Love, QB Utah State
The whole comparing it to us picking Rodgers - Rodgers was BPA - it was essentially is he going to be number 1. This was in part a byproduct tho of position importance. It was widely thought at that time that neither Rodgers nor Smith were anything more than late 1st QB's in a better QB draft. Like...

Re: Round 1 (26) - Jordan Love, QB Utah State
image.png Why on Earth extend Rodgers and then restructure his contract too? 31.5 million in dead money if we try to move him after this year. 17.2 after 2022 season. Love has no chance to play till 2023. GB has a cap savings in excess of 20M if he is cut or traded before the 2022 season. One trend...

Re: Round 1 (26) - Jordan Love, QB Utah State
Jordan Love is 20. He is going to sit behind Rodgers for a few years and hopefully do exactly what Rodgers did at that 26th spot. Yeah, but we're talking apples and oranges. It was very evident that we weren't going to get it done with Favre, his playing style, direction of team. Rodgers was essent...

Re: Round 1 (26) - Jordan Love, QB Utah State
Jordan Love is 20. He is going to sit behind Rodgers for a few years and hopefully do exactly what Rodgers did at that 26th spot. Seriously? I didn't realize he was that young. That does make me like the pick quite a bit more. That was one underappreciated thing about Rodgers, he was so young that ...

Re: 2020 General Draft Discussion
I'm pretty stoked about this year's draft. Granted, I haven't been following at all, I mean I can literally name one player, and last name only (Tua). But, the broadcast hopefully will be absent the dumb pick announcements that were always way behind and not entertaining at all. And props on the sit...

Re: Rank the Roster: 2014-2019
Percent of vote the winner got will be in parenthesis, position change vs. 2018 will be in brackets. Here's how this works: Each day there is a new thread/poll, starting at #1, on down to whereever we get. The whole point of this exercise is to have something to talk about in the lean news months t...
