Re: Packers @ 49ers Divisional GDT: Saturday, January 20th, 2024, 7:15 PM CST

I superstitiously decided that if I could complete the Daily Telegraph crossword during the 4th quarter of the Ravens game, then we would win. Completed with 6+ minutes to go. Take it to the house! I will take anything.  Maybe a slippery field will slow down Bosa and Young giving Love...

Re: Divisional Round Games

Ravens defense dominant. Only Texans TD thus far was special teams. Tough team to beat. Complete beat down the second half.

The rain could definitely affect this game in some big ways possibly.

Maybe McCaffrey puts it on the ground a couple times for our recovery?!!! In any case hopefully its them putting it on the ground and not the Packers

Re: Divisional Round Games

Time to see how CJ Stroud responds now that they are down by 14 in the playoffs against a good defense/team. I am hoping for some drama here. Hope he does good.

Re: Packers @ 49ers Divisional GDT: Saturday, January 20th, 2024, 7:15 PM CST

It dawned on me this morning. I actually care less about whether we win or lose than whether we play them tough. With the exception of 1 game that I can remember (2021 regular season matchup IIRC), SF has physically dominated us for the last 15 or so years. If we’re going to go down against a bette...

And in other news. The Green Bay Packers will not have any injury designations for the first time this season when they take on the Houston Texans in Super Bowl 57 on Feb 11th

Re: Packers @ 49ers Divisional GDT: Saturday, January 20th, 2024, 7:15 PM CST

From The Athletic, something dangerous to watch for Key matchup: George Kittle vs. Packers linebackers The 49ers were second in the league in snaps out of 21 personnel (two backs, one tight end and two receivers) in the regular season. With Christian McCaffrey in the fold, the play-design possibili...

Re: Packers @ 49ers Divisional GDT: Saturday, January 20th, 2024, 7:15 PM CST

I don't think it would be a miracle if we won, but the movie "Miracle" is one of my favorite sports movies ever. I am alway throwing quotes out there in my head and sometimes in print. .Anyway starting to get jacked up for this game also. "This cannot be a team of common men, Cuz comm...

Re: Packer Receivers: The Fearsome Five?

Sterling Sharpe was in the conversation as the best WR in the NFL while playing at the same time as prime Jerry Rice. Sharpe is the best Packers receiver. He had a chance to be one of the 2 or 3 best NFL WRs of all time if he had stayed healthy. It was that good. He broke an 8-year old record for r...

Jordy was not “sneaky fast.” He was FAST.
Yes. One of them long strider guys who may not have had a blazing 40 time but generally would never get caught by almost any DB once past him. Lost a step after injury unfortunately .

Re: Cheese Curds - News Around The League 2023

Considering I never had internet in my residence until 1999, I never knew I was ahead of the curve in 2000 with cable. All my friends had it too. I probably downloaded 5000 songs that year in Napster lol. I think 1999 was about the time I got cable internet. I remember quite fondly as I got into on...

Re: Packer Receivers: The Fearsome Five?

Side note: I was waiting for somebody to suggest one of these guys compared well to Sterling Sharpe. I have my daggers sharpened and ready to pounce should one of you be fool enough to utter the words. Sharpe is, by good measure, the best WR the Packers have had in the SB era. Fair warning! ;) He w...

Last time the Packers - Niners played in a quagmire it worked out ok for the Pack! Here's hoping for Nixon or Reed to channel some Des Howard moves and "return" us to glory!! I was in attendance at that game. The final score was great but man, it was miserable enduring the wind and rain! ...

Re: Jordan Freaking Love

All the "experts" continue to pick on Love for throwing off his back foot. Has anyone seen an interview with Clements that asks him about it? Is that something he teaches QBs in order to beat a free rusher? None of these retired QBs think Love can have any consistency in the league if he ...

Re: Jordan Freaking Love

This is not up for debate anymore. Chew-outs were defended as necessary to get poor play to improve. Yet we saw no improvement last season when this was done. I said then, clearly it is not working, so a different approach needs to be pursued. And people were like, "well what else is there??&q...

Re: Jordan Freaking Love

Rodgers can have the excuses of being too old and not wanting to the team chemistry stuff. That is fine. But it just proves even more why I wanted to move on and the result we are seeing shows the importance of a QB being in synce with his young team. I'm sure Jordan Love will change at some point ...

Re: Packer Receivers: The Fearsome Five?

I miss the old slant fade. That was mine and @NCF’s go-to red zone play when we were slinging it in the backyard and who ran that slant/fade better then Antonio Freeman, to me Wicks reminds me of Freeman, both are faster then there profile suggest, both can run precise routes, there about the same ...
