Re: Cheese Curds - News Around The League 2023

Not true. These are the starting WR's and TE's each year of the NE dynasty. I would say that in almost all of those seasons they had at least 2 competent NFL starter caliber WR's/TE's. In some years, they even had all-time great level of talent. (**snip**) Looking at this list, I still think Rodger...

Re: Cheese Curds - News Around The League 2023

and the reason Belicheck won all the super bowls was that he had Tom Brady. Most years their receivers were dung, but they had the GOAT QB. Not true. Anyone remember the bomb to Driver in 2009?

Our offense was a well oiled machine in those days. There were so many weapons. Even guys like Donald Lee were invaluable pieces to have. Young Aaron Rodgers sure did play with fire in his belly.

Re: Papa's 3 Tiers of NFL QB

Just for grins, I have to ask, why was Justin Fields left off the list? Different sub tier? Recent injury? Reasonable list here. I think one important evaluation factor must be consistency of performance. Thanks for your efforts. I completely forgot about Fields. Guess I also could have included De...

Re: Papa's 3 Tiers of NFL QB

If tier two is truly that big I don’t think QB would be as sought after as it is. To me you have tier one rightish. I would personally put Herbert in there. I think he’s been significantly screwed by a dog &%$@ coach. Tier two to me should be in no order Jackson, Hurts, Tua, Stroud, Rodgers, Go...

Papa's 3 Tiers of NFL QB

I don't like to complicate things. Several notable players and coaches have gone on record saying that the margin of talent in this league is actually pretty small. In my mind, there are 3 tiers of NFL QB's. First Tier These guys are typically the future Hall of Famers and in some cases the fringe H...

The play that melted Lupe's mind. https://twitter.com/jaredrblock/status/1726348022286561297 Great play by Doubs, Saw the opening changed the route and then reached back for the catch. The throw does look a bit awkward but give Love credit for making a good read. We are so used to seeing Rodgers th...

Re: Chargers @ Packers GDT: Sunday, Nov. 19th, 12:00 PM CST

Love can be such a tough eval. There are moments where he shows such athleticism. And then there are moments when he looks clueless. Overall, the mistakes that he makes (bobbled shotgun snap in this game) offset the good moments. If he could clean up the dumb &%$@, it would go a long way in maki...

Re: Chargers @ Packers GDT: Sunday, Nov. 19th, 12:00 PM CST

This is another situation similar to DEN and LV in that having a competent QB would make the difference in winning. Chargers pass defense is their weak link. They are middle of the pack in pretty much every other category. Unless there is someone I'm forgetting, I think Herbert is the best QB that t...

Re: Green Bay Packers News 2023

This last presser beginning of the end for LaFleur imo. IDK what LaFleur is thinking, interacting with the media that way. He is an absolutely NO position to be acting condescending. It's PR 101. The quicker a vulnerable coach turns the media against him, the sooner he will be shown the door. Dead ...

Re: The Rebuild

MLF is not a leader of men. Neither is Barry. I believe it is the correct move to get rid of them sooner rather than later. The reason I think that is because if we start acquiring more talent to rebuild the roster, I don't want that talent being infected with the weak, complacent mindset of the cur...

Re: Jordan Love 2023 Expectation/Player Comparison

It is clear to me that Love has athletic ability. He will make good throws. The accuracy problem persists. I am just surprised at how raw he still looks. I am sure there are counterexamples but by and large he struggles to move within the pocket while keeping his wits about him. If he has the protec...

People will tell me that it's a rebuild year and cut them some slack but I can't hold back. This defense is a piece of &%$@. We have watched the same defense with different personnel and coaches for the past decade plus. Just plug and play new players and coaches, and get THE SAME POS PRODUCT. C...

Re: Play the 2023 Packers Blame Game!

@Yoop @Papa John You two are countering with arguments I never made. I don't disagree the Love pick was ill timed and probably an outright overreach when you consider the Packers traded up for him in R1. The fact it came on the heels of an NFCCG appearance and MVP season from Rodgers made it all th...

Re: Play the 2023 Packers Blame Game!

No, that's not what I'm saying at all. The Packers weren't a contender entering the 2005 draft. You just need to look at their record of 4-12 for evidence. They were definitely one in the 2020 offseason though. Therefore it make much more sense to draft a QB when Rodgers dropped to them instead of ...

I consider that ball underthrown because it was behind Watson, and needed to be further in front of him i.e. longer , whereas I would consider it an overthrow if it was too far in front for Watson to get his hands on it. :idn: Unless he decided to make the throw the wrong way and meant to put it th...
