What I found telling is the year we won it all was the lone time our D was ranked in the top 5.
To be fair, we could have won it all in 2014 as well if our ST play was just competent during that Seahawks travesty. We had already played and beaten the eventual winner that year (NE).

Re: Rank the Roster 2020: #26

As a general rule, I always vote Crosby as soon as people start pushing for him so I don't have to see days' worth of kicker discussion. Yeah, good riddance. I understand that a good kicker is valuable, but he is a streaky kicker whose leg is below average for distance. Half the rookies from last y...

Re: Rank the Roster 2020: #26

Greene if he starts and stays healthy but neither one of those is a given. He has been injury prone and I don't think he's at all a sure thing to start over Martin or Bolton. I still think MVS has the advantage over EQ, but still, we are talking WR3 at best, WR4 and 5 more realistically. Crosby's co...

Re: Rank the Roster 2020: #25 Runoff

'Gonna change my vote to Crosby, actually. To me, the K should go only after all players who significantly impact field-position. I do think some of the guys on the board could be impact players, but I don't feel confident enough to bet on it. So I will go with the safe bet; the points that Mase giv...

Re: Why the Packers should absolutely pay Aaron Jones now

Yeah, I think I would lean toward paying him. Maybe structure the contract so you have an "out" after two years that does not hurt too much, should he bust. As was mentioned by someone else, having Dillon actually makes that easier, because you can also use Dillon to manage Jones's workloa...

Re: Rank the Roster 2020: #25

I really, really WANT EQ to emerge from this duo, but there is plenty to say MVS still gets first crack at it. I'm going with MVS. I think the injury last year really hampered him, similar to what happened to Davante Adams in 2015. Here's hoping he can bounce back in a big way. My thoughts as well....

Re: The Packers Defense is Awesome...Except

Honestly, the real mistake was not acquiring Hyde and/or Randall at a time when we did not "need" them but holding onto Burnett for that long. He may have been well-liked within the organization but he was barely above-average if that. We should have moved on from him sooner, and then had ...

Somebody Feed Phil has new episodes on Netflix w00t w00t -!! Anyone who liked the Anthony Bourdain (R.I.P.) show Parts Unknown will really enjoy this one. It's basically the same thing: exploring the world through food. Phil Rosenthal was the director of Everybody Loves Raymond and is a f...

Re: Rank the Roster 2020: #24

Gotta go with Williams now. I do expect his touches to go down due to Dillon and more Ervin. That said, I do expect he will get touches pretty consistently as a runner and receiver. Also, his blocking and ST play remain valuable. On a side note, I looked up the rookie season stats of St. Brown, main...

Re: Future of political talk on the forum

Sorry, but the Covid-19 thread really makes the "no political discussion" rule look silly. The last pages of posts all pretty much delve into political territory. So the rules and moderation do not succeed in preventing it. And that's fine, rules/moderation are not about all-or-nothing; th...

Re: The Packers Defense is Awesome...Except

The Packers defense is AWESOME except for a game-changing ILB and a reliable 2-way DL2 next to Kenny. Yeah I really hope Kirksey works out for us and we can seriously look at using a #1 or #2 pick on a Dlineman next year. Though I have heard from Nagler that Treyvon Hester will be an upgrade over L...

Re: Future of political talk on the forum

Other than when "yoop versus the world" had dragged on for a long time and all involved started getting tired, the discourse was really not that combative if you ask me. Most folks who frequented that subforum were pretty ideologically close anyway. Those of us that had more different view...

Re: The Packers Defense is Awesome...Except

Gotta agree with yoop here, tbh. Pettine's hiring has not turned this defense around such that, in retrospect, one can really be like "Wow, Dom sure held back this unit." To the extent the D was an issue (and the unit really wasn't all that bad in the past couple season), it was always mo...

I like how the video says "The Packers Defense Has a Problem" and has a picture of Blake Martinez right next to that :P (even if that's not what the video was about).

Re: Future of political talk on the forum

Podium part deux. It's not what brings me here and I can live without it, but I was slightly disappointed that it was done away with. But I don't really have a good solution to the issue of the topic's inherent divisiveness, tbh. I think there is value in having a separate forum for people to let it...

Re: Rank the Roster 2020: #22

I have no idea what to expect from Funchess with any reasonable confidence. I could see anything from him being the full-time WR2 to him getting fewer snaps than the 'stooges.' Yeah, I say go with the starting OL. Sure, Turner could theoretically be usurped, but for now, the job is his to lose and I...

Re: Rank the Roster 2020: #21

I don't think they will put him ahead of J-Will on Day 1, but that has more to do with the coach's preferences than whether or not Dillon would earn it. If he shows well enough, though, I agree they should.
