Re: Rank the Roster 2020: #21

Top-20 Sully is Top-20 -- YEE! (lol he better not let me down now tho) Uhh, hmm... I could potentially see Turner being overtaken, but not really. We are not paying him that money to ride the bench. I sure don't see Lane Taylor overtaking him. Taylor looked DONE to my eyes. Runyan may have a shot bu...

Re: General Packers News 2020

Yeah, while I agree that our offense is not especially fast or has great speed, I don't think that is going to matter much under our current offensive system as it would have mattered under McCarthy's "my guy can beat your guy!"-sceme. I think our success as an offensive unit is going to h...

Re: Lane Taylor accepts pay cut

Nice move by the front-office. That said, Lane Taylor looked DONE to me last year. He was always someone with pretty significant athletic limitations and made up for it by being well-coached/refined, but I felt like his limitations have become too great now, due to age and injuries. I would have jus...

Re: Rank the Roster 2020: #20

Burks is a cut candidate. Kirksey, Martin, Greene, Bolton all seem like better bets to make the roster. Burks likely will compete for that last spot with Summers, who I also think is more likely to stick. He will need to really bring it to make the team.

Re: Rank the Roster 2020: #18

Maybe being a rookie coach has that effect -- you feel safer going with tested vets and/or fear that inexperienced players will $%@# things up. It's not totally irrational; look at how Darius Shepherd (sp?) crapped the bed... though I maintain that Shepherd had similar lowlights during preseason tha...

Re: Rank the Roster 2020: #18

The only way that I could see J-Will getting cut is what I said about Dillon cleaning up his blocking -AND- Dexter Williams plays lights-out in camp and preseason -- not an impossible scenario, but an unlikely one. I think we are likely to keep at least 4 RBs this year: Jones, Dillon, Ervin, and J-W...

Re: Rank the Roster 2020: #19

Showtime Sully, GO! Lowry is a JAG and frankly, after how historically badly our defense was gashed by the 9ers, we should refrain from ranking any DL into the Top-20 on principle (save only for Clark). Personally, there is no 2019 rookie who I am pulling for harder than Kingsley Keke. Here's hoping...

Re: Rank the Roster 2020: #18

I think he may be a decent pass protector in college, but think saying he WILL be pretty competent in the NFL is overstating it. I would be shocked if Dillon was a decent enough pass protector right out of the gate that leads to him taking over for Williams. Rarely does a college back come to the N...

Garvin sounds talented and this should be a good situation for him. I think he will really benefit from having Gary to mentor him! :)

Re: Rank the Roster 2020: #18

What is the thinking behind voting Jamaal Williams over AJ Dillon? Dillon is the much better talent and likely the bigger would-be benefactor should Jones miss time. As a general rule, I disagree with the idea that rookie players are necessarily huge mystery-boxes. If you are talking about mid-to-la...

Re: General Packers News 2020

Intriguing DB candidate from Canada, Marc-Antoine Dequoy, hopes to make the roster. https://www.packers.com/news/packers-found-underdog-of-underdogs-in-canadian-rookie-marc-antoine-dequoy?fbclid=IwAR07zoM5pPA6oFuFd15HmD8FBrHocS2MRoCtXxNIR63YzfSQASU9QMwP3Ok He'll be a 25-year-old rookie but has high-...

Re: Rank the Roster 2020: #17

I think it's Lazard over Funchess but that the former will not get significantly more snaps than the latter, and that EQ will eat further into both's workload as the year goes on -- with the possibility of overtaking both (which, as far as I'm concerned, is the ideal outcome). I am also not ready or...

And as it relates to deciding between him or Lazard, WR2 is probably gonna get a similar amount of snaps as a (quote-unquote) starter.

Re: Rank the Roster 2020: #17

Sully, for reasons already explained, same general logic as Lazard (who I think is my second choice). Looks like Gary will go here, which surprises me a bit, but I am okay with it. He was probably one of my next couple votes. His role will definitely get a lot bigger with Fackrell out, and he could ...

Showtime Sully's play last year was the best of any of the remaining options and is the closest to a 'sure-thing' to start. He gets my vote.

Re: Rank the Roster 2020: #15

I think Chandon Sullivan should be getting more consideration after this, especially by the logic of voting for Lazard. CB3 is a starting position in this defense -- not "like" one, it IS one. On that note, Sullivan's competition will also be a lot less formidable than what Lazard will hav...

2010: no excuses, Rodgers was garbo; luckily the D bailed us out. 2011: Not his fault, our D was trash and the receivers hung him out to dry (they had like 8 drops and there were fumbles iirc) 2013: I don't really remember this game well other than us getting gashed by CK7 2014: Rodgers was mediocre...
