Re: Jeff Hafley Packers new DC

Not surprised with Downard however I'm disappointed with us retaining Rebrovich.

Re: Jeff Hafley Packers new DC

https://twitter.com/TheDestinAdams/status/1754538529567146187 He was one of several DL coach options for Hafley as he worked with him previously at Pittsburgh. Apparently he comes with a good reputation. Not to worry though are still several options available to him. He shouldn't have too much diffi...

Re: Packers DC Search

If Evero does not land the Seattle's HC gig and Carolina decides to part ways with him then he has lots of options. Become a DC for whomever Seattle hires, he could go back to McVay as Rams DC, he could go to Atlanta and join Morris, or go to sunny Miami and inherit Fangio's defence or he could fina...

He could have just asked his source if he also shared that information with Mertig.

Re: Packers DC Search

After thinking about it, I'm calling BS on the Parker rumors. The NFL has a very traditional and rules orientated process of interview and hiring practices so therefore it is predictable. Green Bay are a traditionally run and classy organisation. They don't do weird things, they're boring and by the...

Re: Packers DC Search

What works in the NFL is a combination of 2 things: First is to be respected (not necessarily liked) by the players. You don't get that respect by trading a good player at a position of need for less than he is worth. Much less for cutting him. You don't get that respect by keeping backups that can...

Re: Packers DC Search

I've just did a deep dive on Anthony Weaver and my god he is so incredibly connected to LaFleur and his coaching circles. Anthony Weaver was at Houston in his final season as a player when LaFleur, Shanahan, McDaniel and Saleh was on staff. Eventually he coached with Pettine and Hackett at the Bills...

Re: Packers DC Search

Going young is fine, Lafleur just needs to know that this team is in a Super Bowl window and there will be no time to “learn on the job”. There are other locations around the league to do that. Precisely what LaFleur did previously, leaning with the more experienced Barry when we had the Rodgers su...

Re: 2023 NFL Draft Discussion

Why isn't Isiah Foskey a more heralded prospect? Amazing production for a career, on the moderate younger side, only 22 as a RJr. Elite ahleticsm. Kind of checks all the boxes why isn't he a top 20 guy? I was wondering the same. I got into his highlights yesterday and liked what I saw. Much better ...

Re: Rodgers wants out

Yeah, Kumerow was such a need that we only made it to the NFC championship game with a #1 offense. If that was part of his problem, good riddance to Rodgers. Teds job for life ( literally) same for McCarthy and Capers, no WR's taken in first 3 rounds for 6 years, no first round offensive players fo...

Re: 2021 UDFA

Here's Cronk's tape vs Ohio State in 2019. He is #54 playing left tackle and faced off against Chase Young (#2 Blonde Dredds) a number of times. Despite the loss he does not embarrass himself at all, I thought he mostly held his own and looked fairly steady. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bPIdNYaUgr4

Re: Rodgers wants out

unrelated: I just re-read the Kumerow comments and it seems Kumerow getting cut wasn't the big issue - it was Kumerow getting cut the day after AR complimented his play. That could be perceived as a slight to AR's leadership of the locker room.( It wasn't) - but if you are already questioning Gute,...

Re: Rodgers wants out

I posted a theory a few months back on FF about the possibility that Rodgers and Adams might get together to form an exit plan and join a contending team ala Brady and Gronk. Rodgers probably doesn't want to start all over again to form a new rapport with a new WR that will take a few years to devel...

Re: Rodgers wants out

I see people are blaming Gute for poor communication but here i'm thinking, how? He is smack bang in the middle of the first round of the draft. He is literally working, he is watching the board, speaking to his co-workers over zoom and on the phone all at the same time. Not only that he had his fou...

Re: Royce Newman, OT, Mississippi - Round 4 - Pick 142

Shuttle and 3-cone not what we had grown accustomed to. Perfect size, though. Guessing a lot of room to get stronger. The way Gutey talked yesterday, I think his plan is to get that O-line a bit bigger and stronger than we are used to. Maybe a bit less athletic. Thompson drafted elite pass protecto...

Re: Eric Stokes - CB - Georgia - Round 1 - Pick 29

I think Gute just picks athletic defensive backs in the first and hope they can get coached up. I mean he drafted Alexander, Savage and now he's repeating what he has done before drafting Stokes all of whom were kinda unexpected draft picks by the Packers draft community. It seems to be working for ...

Re: Josh Myers - C - Ohio State - Round 2 - Pick 30

I'm not overly impressed with his tape vs Indiana. He seems a tick slow with his processing in various situations. In some running plays he is not moving organically and decisively. TBF Indiana put in some heavy pass rush and made life difficult for the OL. There was one moment where a rusher was ru...

Re: Eric Stokes - CB - Georgia - Round 1 - Pick 29

I watched a highlight video where the narrator broke down his tape. He pointed out that he struggles with his footwork in space but is really solid in man coverage.

Doesn't Barry run a zone coverage scheme? if that's the case isn't Stokes a poor fit for his scheme?
