Im gonna laugh very hard when Mitch biscuit becomes very good for the Steelers after nagy tried to ruin the young chap
I don't understand the Trubisky nickname to be honest. Not sure what it means. He is 11 games over 500 on &%$@ teams. You could do worse I guess.

I'd take Trubisky as a back-up. With better coaching he could become a successful NFL QB. Doesn't seem to be a quitter.

This isn't going to make negotiations with Savage any easier.

To get 2xAll-Pro -money, Savage would need to have one helluva year, and I'd be all for it.

I am not expecting Savage to be at the top of the market, but that ceiling just went way up.

I think I'd let him walk, personally, especially with how well the guys behind him are playing. :idn:

We already picked up his 5th-year option.

So he's under contract for 2022 and 2023. There's a lot of time between now and then to determine if we should or shouldn't let him walk. I think he's a slow learner with the mental side of the game. He started to click in the former defense and took a step back last year with a new defense. I'll hold to see if he jumps forward as this season progresses.

I understand that we're in the extension window, so it's not too early to talk about. But I don't generally think that top-of-market safety contracts in August 2022 have a major impact on the Savage decision at present.

I think anytime the top of the market moves it trickles down to every player at that position. I get your points on timing, but this definitely impacts the Savage decision, especially in the shorter-term of the window.

That’s how a guy like MVS gets 10M a season.

Put me in the amos camp. He's a little older but this moves his needle

He also has some cap charges on void years right now, so it would be cap-prudent to extend him through that timeline so that we're not paying dead money for a guy after he's gone.

I wonder what Amos' market would be. He's consistent at an elite level, but not elite at a consistent level.

But yeah, with Amos unsigned after 2022 and Savage after 2023, this would have been a very ideal year to draft a safety with a decent pick, or perhaps even a couple late rounders (the Moore/MVS/EQ, Williams/Jones/Mays, Runyan/Hansen/Stepaniak strategy). At least give yourself the option of not A) overpaying out of necessity, B) having to sign a stop gap FA, still overpaid, or C) not have just complete question marks back there.

I feel like our D has a chance to be too good the next handful or years, would be a shame to screw that up by having some complete liabilities back there simply for the lack of trying/cap space.

I think safety is the one position on D where you can find good-to-ok talent at a rather cheap price. Difference makers cost a lot, of course, but you don't have to stoop to "liabilities" for the lack of cap space like at premium positions.

Poor NHL. Even the Big10 rakes in more...

Little surprised by SEC standing. I guess their one-trick-pony football dependence only gets them so far.

Watson, 11 games, fined, treatment.

Bardy - is he retiring again? Bowles doesn't seem to know when he will rejoin the team.

Lions - still suck.

Brady just needs some media attention turned back on him for a week or two. Can't blame him, it's been like 2 minutes since the ESPN series about him finished...
