Yeah. I am not expecting it to happen (plausible though), but I sure wouldn't disagree with it.BF004 wrote: ↑21 Aug 2022 16:37I am proclaiming an Amari Rodgers cut. Make things easier on Winfree and Toure, both of whom would contribute more this year.
He just doesn’t look right, every punt catch looks like a struggle, can’t seem to grasp the O and run the routes appropriately.
I am often wrong. But I am leaning towards him being a lost cause. Maybe swing him for a 6 or a 7, but he isn’t one of our 53 best players.
People are like "He's slimmed down! He's back in college form!" yet when I watch Rodgers's college highlights, I'm really not very impressed. All I see is a guy who's more athletic than college defenders that are not pro-caliber, not a guy with anything special that will make him actually excel as a pro in his own right.
Looks like a pure gadget guy, Day 3 value, and frankly he's not even looking all that impressive on gadget plays either. Toure looks like he could do the gadget stuff while already being a way better receiver.
If he was not a third-rounder, I really doubt any of us would have him in serious consideration of making the roster.

If Amari gets cut, I'll make some of you happy and leave this forum for good.
But if he doesn't get cut...you all must refer to me as "God" for the rest of the season.
Deal?
Come on...some of you are so confident that he is getting cut.

I don't think he's getting cut, I just think that he should be.

Option A: play Lazard as the "big slot" in 3+ WR sets.PackerNation wrote: ↑21 Aug 2022 19:00So, who is your slot WR if Cobbie gets hurt?
You said Amari "should be cut." I would think you have some plans.
Option B: have any/all of Tonyan, Deguara, and Aaron Jones pitch in there.
-- Injury to any of the above --
Option C: Toure, you're up.
Option D: Welcome to the 53, Danny Davis (who from what I've seen I frankly find more reliable and dynamic than Rodgers).

Well, I would use Sammy in the slot some which they will do even if Cobbie doesn't get hurt and Amari is gone.Labrev wrote: ↑21 Aug 2022 19:18Option A: play Lazard as the "big slot" in 3+ WR sets.PackerNation wrote: ↑21 Aug 2022 19:00So, who is your slot WR if Cobbie gets hurt?

So, you would have no true slot if Cobbie gets hurt. I'm not sure Aaron would agree with your thoughts on Amari "should be cut."

I forget the SN, but the guy with the Bart Starr avatar has said Amari is "toast" and "as good as gone." That dude really hates Amari.
you did, but if PN promises to leave the forum I'am joining ya, I may even hire a hit man to take Amari outBF004 wrote: ↑21 Aug 2022 19:30Who acted remotely confident he would get cut?PackerNation wrote: ↑21 Aug 2022 18:18If Amari gets cut, I'll make some of you happy and leave this forum for good.

I just don't expect any surprises, Amari has had the return responsibilities more then anyone else, and when given a lane to run succeeded for a 50 yrd return, same with the catch for the TD, if people couldn't see the burst and speed there blind.
plus Cobb vouches for Amari, and as we know Cobb is now a player/coach so theres that to also consider
actually Cobb did brag Amari up a lot last year, and he didn't deserve any of that hoopala, real disappointment, imo though, he looks like a different player this year.
Okay. Well I've learned when there is anything related to "accepted or perceived public knowledge of the Packers" Skeptic will be determined to be the opposite.PackerNation wrote: ↑21 Aug 2022 19:36I am having a little fun with the Amari haters.BF004 wrote: ↑21 Aug 2022 19:30Who acted remotely confident he would get cut?PackerNation wrote: ↑21 Aug 2022 18:18If Amari gets cut, I'll make some of you happy and leave this forum for good.

So I wouldn't take too much stock in him being the guy who says "one of Cobb or Rodgers will be cut"

Makes no sense to cut Amari. Cobb and Lazard both only have a year left on their deals as potential slot players. Amari still has 3 so he can step into that role and prove himself next season.
Has he been good? No. Rodgers has consistently called him out without using his name in interviews. Still it’s too early to cut him.
I will say it doesn’t look good in Gute who has already done poorly scouting receivers in the past and really letting that position group go to shambles. Of the 3 he drafted this year 2 of them need to become long term solutions at the position and Waston needs to end up better than Pickens which I just don’t see being the case.

I see this BS narrative in the national media, but I don't often see it with those that are in tune with the team.
This WR group is not a "shambles" just because Davante wanted out and Gute granted that wish to a cat that didn't want to be here. I know you also are trying to say Gute has scouted poorly, I don't agree there either.
Still spewing this BS narrative today only shows me that you have zero clue on the quality of WRs that are Lazard(Gute found him on Jax PS) Sammy, Doubs, Watson, and Rodgers, yes Rodgers. I know there is a group of Amari naysayers here...great! I can't wait for him to prove them wrong.
This WR group has been disrespected more than any I can remember. When they prove the WR room has not become a "shambles", I hope some of you give them and Gute a strong apology, as you eat your crow this season.

Formidable group, that I LOVE you called a "shambles." We will return to your comment later this season.
Lupe's comment was about the &%$@ show of drafting 3 very very raw recruits in 2018 when what we needed was a Sammy Watkins, or any ready to play vet, not what happened in this last draft.
and the national media has been pointing that our WR room has sucked since 2016, that is a established fact, if not for a QB like Rodgers, and the crap teams in the NFC north and our record wouldn't be so impressive.
we will return to talk about this at seasons end when Lazard has 40 catches again, I hope he's better, but he has never shown the ability to produce more, rounds his routes, lacks agility, his best trait is his ability to block for others.
Winfree does everything better then Lazard except block

I like the Sammy Watkins pickup for what it is but lets face it. If he was a better player he wouldnt be on a 1 year, less than $2M deal. Hes also wouldnt be on his 4th team and 3rd in 3 years. Lazard has just been an average player and doesnt show up in playoff games. Again in a year where everyone is looking to snatch up receivers no one offered anything for his tender. We drafted 3 WRs in 2018 and none of them are on the roster. None ready to take over the Adams mantle. Moore and ESB were both cut prior to their rookie deals expired. Moore had a single season in the league. MVS was a good pick for the 5th round but he was never anything more than a decent #3 due to his speed.PackerNation wrote: ↑22 Aug 2022 07:52I see this BS narrative in the national media, but I don't often see it with those that are in tune with the team.

2019 came and went without a drafted WR. 2020 came and went without a drafted WR. You cant do that. Back to back seasons without trying to bolster a weak position like WR that requires multiple competent players is negligence.

I just named my top 6 WRs.
I have predicted 7 on the roster all offseason. I think we keep 7. But lordy. You're an aggressive dude based on a simple post just naming my top 6 WRs.

Aggressive? Thought my post was pretty tame. Didn't know you took me as "aggressive". I get called a troll here daily and never take it as "aggressive." I do think it's unacceptable to attempt to frame a actual Packers fan as a troll though. It has toned down more recently.go pak go wrote: ↑22 Aug 2022 09:51Jesus.PackerNation wrote: ↑22 Aug 2022 09:17No way in hell Gute only keeps 6. Last time he drafted 3 WRs he kept 8. So who's your 7th WR?
