Dare I say that is an Aaron Rodgers throw?!
It is reminiscent of ARod in his younger years. If that was Davante or Jordy out there, it would've had a shot at being completed, too.
James Jones would have caught that, he was good at the tough ones.
Jordy, Jones, Adams, Driver, hell even Jennings.

Tim Boyle is like, wait, I did the same thing against second and third stringers in preseason. Wtf?
ahhh, doubt Ol Tim could roll left, set, and fire a rocket on target 50 yrds to Toure, and if he did and Toure dropped it, well, who can even contemplate what sort of reaction T B would have had, Lovey just shines it on, Tim may have chased Toure right out of Lambeau field
Based on that one incompletion in a preseason game I am now on board with Love. I bet Carrol Dale makes that catch on a side note.

At least #10 is looking better. Would be dreadful if he was tanking instead. Let's see how he does next week.

Oh ............ ignore LaFleur's comments, they're clearly politically motivated. LaCoach is saying whatever it takes to keep everything going forward toward lemonade on 9/11. I'm way more worried about the offensive line than any of the receiver or Jordan Love play.

STs and TE ...........
The Packers are in trouble if Tonyan has a setback or gets hurt in the season. Right now Deguara is the only other competent pass catcher and he is more a H-back than a TE.

Not worried about the Oline when Jenkins starts at RT. Newman needs to start at RG because the rookies are getting schooled like - well like rookies do. If Bakh starts in September, Oline is a team strength

ST's still suck. Amari Rodgers has rocks between his ears.

Tyler Dunne at GoLong has an interview with Love's private QB coach about him. It's a subscription page but the first link usually is visible for free

Really interesting stuff. Insider accounts of the development.

That was really good. The one thing that caught my attention was Love subconsciously trying to do things that he was watching Aaron do. It's a very, very natural learning mechanism. It's also one that is going to get you into trouble if you are watching Aaron Rodgers and you are not Aaron Rodgers. Just some cool insight there.

I have a very vested interest in Jordan Love succeeding for a million reasons, but maybe most importantly, I just love the kid. He is an awesome person and I just really, really hope it all clicks for him some day.

Agreed. I'm going to be walking around all day trying to look at different things with each eye without going cross-eyed.

JT O'Sullivan with 30 minutes on Love vs the Saints. Too long for my current attention span, but I bet some of y'all will enjoy it

Good stuff

the trade mark roll out left and fire down the left side line seems to be working for Love, now all we need is for the receivers to catch the balls.

I think the more Love plays the little kinks to his game with improve, some of these off target throws are caused by the receivers, and some of the drops are very hard catches.

looking forward to the third addition of the Love show tonight, for some others it'll be there last chance to impress enough to make the team

Didn't you have some sort of beef with O'Sullivan?

O'Sullivan did a breakdown of Rodgers' play in the playoff loss that essentially pushed the narrative that Rodgers was missing reads by focusing on Adams too often or for too long. However, he made several caveats like "I don't know what the playcall was" or "easy to say from the film room," and therefore wound up being viewed very much in the eye of the beholder. Many people on the forum invested in one narrative or another took issue and/or delight with that video, regardless of how others interpreted it. Yoop was probably one of those. We all probably were.

I actually like O Sullivan, I liked the cavet, we don't always know the play call, but the other point was true to, Rodgers did have some tunnel vision going or he may have seen the wide open Lazard, who knows.

O Sullivan breaks the plays down well, a point to remember I think is that the base line for grading , well actually grading anything is perfection, or at least degree's of it, so it is a gray area, So Sully can shade it in as he goes, but I admit I think he was more right then I was for that PO game last year. :bigcry:

lol, no doubt about it, Ol Maxie McGee would have one handed that ball with his eyes closed, they just don't make receivers like those guys any more :rotf:

I doubt Lombardi tolerated dropped passes like the modern coaches do. :argue:

Rewatched all his throws from the preseason. My analysis? He still doesnt look like a starting QB to me. His decision making I think is a lot better. His mechanics from footwork to throwing motion look much better. He still makes "Wow" throws from the pocket and on the move. The problem I dont think he ever overcomes is his accuracy. Im a big believer that unless you have completely garbage mechanics your accuracy kind of is what it is by the NFL level. Especially year 3 at the NFL level. If you cannot stay ahead of the chains you better damn well have pro bowl QB ability of the likes of Mahomes or Rodgers in that you have something that makes you special to rely on. He misses too many easy throws. Flat checkdowns at the NFL level should be layups. Crossing patterns or quick breaking out should be free throws at this level yet consistently theyre late, off target, or he just flat out misses the read.

Something I heard a long time ago was the difference between a college QB and a NFL QB is their ability to make catches easier for the WR to make a play with the ball. The difference from putting the ball in front of the receiver and let them create yards and that of one who just makes it hard on a receiver is massive. What I saw from Love in preseason was passes in the vicinity of pass catchers but in some difficult places to catch the ball. If thats going to be the case you are going to need an incredible cast of receivers around him to make plays on difficult balls.

With that said its no different from him in college. With a strong cast around him he did well. Without it he was bad. Pro QBs take up to much of the cap rely on talent around them. Its why you see guys like Flacco or Dalton do pretty well but once they get into paid status their team and level of play fall apart. From what I've seen from Love that is where he falls.
