It’s a great problem to have, but we have TOO much depth on the DL. Dean Lowry should be given his walking papers. Traded for a late round pick if possible.

In terms of Crosby getting cut and cobb being traded eventually...it just won’t happen with 12 at QB. He might legit quit mid year if that happened. The team is way too interested in keeping him happy at this point. Those two guys are here for the year.

The way I say this with confidence is that neither guy should be on the roster as it is. Crosby makes WAY too much money. Same for Cobb. He really should be out of the league at this point. But 12 likes his buddies being around, and the team is willing to eat roster spots and cap space in order to let 12 be with his pals and keep him happy.

I feel like if Sammy were to be cut, that would have happened a few weeks ago to help him find another team.

Lowry, get the argument, but I also think he's looks so good where you can't cut ways with him unless it's for another premium player.

Lowry, Cobb and Crosby are the only ones who'd provide any cap relief. And none of them a difference-making amount.

If Wyatt had had a stronger camp, I could've see Lowry being ousted, but not as things stand.

I still think Gutey might make a move at WR, so I don't think Watkins or Rodgers are totally safe.

I haven't heard anything about Deguara all camp.

I thought about Deguara. Had Davis had a stronger camp…maybe. As it stands I’d be shocked if Deguara was let go.

Amari Rodgers, Crosby, or Barnes I could make an argument to cut.

Just for fun (although it will make me sad) we can save 4.5 million by cutting Mercedes Lewis.

If Mercedes counts 4.5 mil on the cap that makes me sad. Not having a legit te is a killer for this offense.

We'd save less than 1M in cap by cutting Lewis.

And Tonyan is a legit TE. Looking around the league, there's veeeeeery little depth at the position league-wide. Colleges somehow really suck at producing TEs.

You can't stop big Bob. You can only hope to contain him.

I thought Lowry should have been cut yrs ago. Not worth the money he makes period. The Coco thing is concerning. If he can't do it then what? The fact that he is in the conversation is bad.
maybe traded, but we aint giving away a 5 sacker and 40 plus tackler, simply because we've brought in Reed and drafted Wyatt, do you think those stats are easily replaced?

imo Lowry has always been under appreciated, till last year struggled with pass rush, but has had 40 plus tackles almost every season, theres value in that as a rotational DT
You don’t think Reed, Wyatt, Slayton, Slaton, or Heflin are capable of making up those tackles and sacks?

Hell, there are only so many snaps to go around. I’d be surprised if Lowry himself produces those numbers again. And then it becomes a question of value. Are his diminished snaps and production worth $8m? That is a question the FO is gonna have to ask themselves.
Lowry is better than Reed. If you don't believe me, look up how many sacks, QB hits and tackles for a loss vs number of snaps for last season.

I'd cut Amari Rodgers.

I'd have cut him after all of those dumb fumbles a couple years back.

Amari Rodgers has not been on the team for "a couple years"

I'am so looking forward to the game tonight, and the bubble players giving all they got for a roster spot.
we have some great battles at a lot of backup positions and we still need to know who the starting ol is

Toms one of the most talked about guys two weeks ago seem to have went into hibernation.

Oh I've seen quite a bit more on him lately. Guys like Ben Fennell and some OL guy Dusty on twitter keep posting about him. People think they're doing quite well.

Back in the late 90s/early 2000s, every single "most underrated players" list had Marvin Harrison and Steve McNair on it. At some point, enough of those articles proliferated that you had to wonder--at what point do you hit a critical mass of people who view someone as underrated such that the player seems now to be fairly properly rated?

Point being, if the same name pops up as a "surprise" cut half a dozen or so times, is it a surprise? Or just polarizing?

In this thread.
I guess I’m not understanding your meaning. Do you perceive it as divisive by opining whether certain players we assume are safe may not necessarily be?
