How is drafting someone in the 4th round, getting 4 pretty quality starting years from him. Then letting him walk (rightfully so) and getting a 4th round comp pick back not an absolute amazing use of resources?

He also did well for the Giants in 2020 and 2021 until he blew out his knee in week 3 last season.BF004 wrote: ↑01 Sep 2022 21:32How is drafting someone in the 4th round, getting 4 pretty quality starting years from him. What you say, Martinez was the best ILB we had had since Bishop, maybe Barnett.

So (with PC apologies), he's our ILB tallest midget?

I love a good TT bashing because he was a $%@# moron but Blake Martinez is an absolute home run at what he offered us when here for where he was drafted.

you complain about Ted every chance you get, while the rest of the football geniuses consider Ted a excellent GM, so who are we to believe? seems like one football wannabe Genius against the rest of civilization of Geniuses connected to football, you loselupedafiasco wrote: ↑08 Sep 2022 11:33I love a good TT bashing because he was a $%@# moron but Blake Martinez is an absolute home run at what he offered us when here for where he was drafted.
tough hitting on DL late round one, which imo was Teds worst picks, same can be said for CB's, theres a reason why the quality at those positions go top 20, my biggest complaint with Ted is that he should have retired once he new something was wrong.
Am I the only that views this as a clear cut upgrade over Robert Woods and/or Odell Beckham?
Read More. Post Less.
It's hard to figure.
He wasn't all that impressive in his last year in Chicago but who knows if it was him, Fields, the offensive coaching, or a combination of some/all.
I'm a big fan of Robert Woods so I'll say, at best, it's an even swap. As far as OBJ, I think Robinson is more consistent and a better route runner but OBJ is more explosive and is the bigger play-maker.
I'll be watching Robinson, no doubt. I'm a fan and wish we had him in GB. But I also think he's somewhat diminished from a few years ago. I guess we'll see.

Push I think, for both.

Robinson is such a different type of player than Woods and Beckham that it's weird for me to compare. I think Robinson is young enough that any circumstantial struggles from the Bears' days can be put behind him, but Woods and Odell are both guys who can be moved around and separate and probably do more in the short-to-intermediate game, while Robinson at his peak is a premiere boundary guy and contested catch player. Stafford had plenty of success with that type in Detroit, but they just bring something different.
It'll be interesting to see Robinson in a good offense with a good coach and QB, but I can hardly predict what that will look like. I think healthy Odell and Woods are better scheme fits, but Robinson is probably talented enough to overcome that sort of scheme dependency.

That huge Von Miller contract by the Bills sure looks worth it in week 1 of year 1.
Allen Robinson, thus far, a non-factor. This guy Ben Skowronek has more targets (3 to 1)
