The defense will be fine. They’ve just practiced against an offense with no tackles and no receivers all camp. They got dropped off in the big leagues and need some time to get their bearings. Also, no defense is going to play lights out for 60minutes when they are on the field the entire first half practically.

The idea that this defense would hold the Vikings O to single digits was always a dream. The Vikings O is good at home and has very good players.

The D will find its footing.

Barry should have switched to man coverage as soon as Jefferson started torching us, years upon years of trying zone coverage and all we have to show for it is mistakes after mistakes, theres no excuse for the wide open spaces Jefferson saw last night.

everyone talked about what we should do on offense, obviously Rodgers or Lafluer didn't listen to any of that, the make shift OL was bound to have protection issues, so why game plan slow developing pass plays, the little bit we saw of motion and mis direction produced a TD, instead of sticking with that and A gap runs we revert back to what didn't work, this team is beyond frustrating to watch

I just don't understand the thought process of not ensuring someone is on Jefferson every play.

Like there is one guy you can't let destroy you and what did we do.....Most of the catches Jefferson had didn't even have a CB on him besides Stokes on the first drive.

we've used half zone and Man before, apparently Barry hasn't, when ya see DB's sitting up in zone and letting receivers run right threw it the reason is because they don't know what to do, it was mass confusion out there yesterday, jefferson TD neither Walker or Alexander new what there responsibilities where, that is poor coaching.

same on offense, nonsensical game plans on both sides of the ball, special teams gets the game ball.

Yeah. You want a blue print on how to beat Jefferson? Do the exact same thing SF did to us in the playoff game last year.

It's one thing if Jefferson just balls against us. But all of his plays were mainly busted coverage or a non CB being matched on him. It was so frustrating.

Versus Minnesota on 9/11/2022:
No INTs
1 sack
MN QB rating 118.

No exactly a top defensive performance.

After re-watching the game, I remain convinced that the TALENT exists for this to be a top 10 defense.

That said, the passivity of the defense on the opening drive of the game, which has been a hallmark of Packer defenses for over a decade, was jarring.

Also troubling were the obvious and multiple MISCOMMUNICATIONS on the back end, yet another hallmark of previous Packer defenses. The communication seemed to get cleaned up in the second half to put a positive spin on things.

As disappointing as that performance was, I still remain hopeful that the defense will be a top 10 unit this season.

On Sunday, I see no reason the defense should not dominate what will be perhaps the most offensively challenged opponent the Packers face all season (with the Jets in the discussion).

Barring a fluke play or two or the offense/special teams gifting the Bears great field position, the defense should not give up more than 17 points.

Time to demonstrate on the field what looks so promising on paper.

Fields will give this defense problems. All the miscommunication will be exposed and he will run wild. A lot to clean up in a week.

I mean Minnesota is a top 3-5 talented offense in the league, depending on how you feel about Kirk.

The Bears are not talented on offense. They should not be exposing anything while we are at home.

Could they? Of course.

Should they? Definite no.

Gotta remember, this was the first time our offense and defense took the field together. I'll think they will be back against the Bears.

I agree with this. I think it was against the Buccs 2 years ago where Adams torched them the first drive when they played zone and the rest of the game they played heavy cover one and disguised a little cover three to mix it up and it shut our offense down.

Getting tired of watching our coaching staffs getting outcoached? That seems to happen when it shouldn't. Both McCoach and LaCoach.

It is 2 years in a row now that Rodgers and most of the starters never took a snap in the preseason. For Christian Watson to not have taken a snap is particularly inexcusable. 2 years in a row the team flopped on opening day. There is no way around it, that is poor coaching. No excuse for not at least 1/4 of a game with all the healthy starters. It applies to the D also

Wanted to give up 17 or fewer points and that was accomplished this evening.

Pass defense was excellent, against an admittedly !@#$ poor passing attack.

The biggest concern after two games is the run defense.

126 yards given up to Minnesota and 180 tonight. That has got to change.
