Keep one thing in mind when talking QB's. Since 1980, only 3 QBs picked in the top 5 of the draft have won a Super Bowl with the team that drafted them. Peyton Manning, Jim McMahon, and Troy Aikman.

Hell no on CJ Stroud. Why? Because Ohio State QBs always suck. Most of these blue chip program QBs amount to nothing because the team around them is so good that they cover up a lot of flaws. Stroud is just another in a long line of future NFL failures.

A lot of these guys get here and "show promise" as rookies because they can run the ball. I.e. Fields. He's garbage, but he "looks good" because he runs a lot.

Never draft a QB from Oklahoma. Never draft a QB from Ohio State. Those are the two worst programs to draft from, although now USC may be on that list because Lincoln Riley is there. Also stats mean like jack &%$@ for college QBs. I knew Baker Mayfield was garbage coming out, because I watched him play in the Big 12. Every idiot loved his stats, but the fact is that he was throwing to CeeDee Lamb, Mark Andrews, and Hollywood Brown, and he had Mixon and Perine in the backfield, and he was playing in Lincoln Riley's system, and he played in a conference known for no defenses.

Also prob wouldn't touch an Alabama QB either. Unless you want to do some sort of special system where you run your QBs a lot and then move on after 4 years. Or play multiple QBs.

Oh please tell us, what school we should be looking at for a QB? Enquiring minds want to know.

I would stay away from Ohio State qb's. Michigan State qb's as well. I think Bart Starr went to Alabama. He wasn't too bad.

I already told everyone. Everywhere except Ohio State, Oklahoma, USC, and Alabama (maybe). Would rather gamble on a D2 QB than an Ohio State QB.

Also can probably add Notre Dame, UT, A&M, and Clemson to the list, barring a super high recruit like Trevor Lawrence. The formula is pretty much:

College team with multiple championship appearances in the past two decades OR top 3 recruiting classes AND QB who is not a top 10 national prospect = bust.

Burrow probably falls under this criteria and he is anything but a bust. But this is a good rule of thumb. Maybe it can be refined a bit.

These just-a-guys like Mayfield and every Ohio State QB who excel because they're the next man up in a loaded system are what we are trying to avoid.

I don't think the school matters.

A QB needs certain physical attributes. 6'1" or more. He needs to be able to make LB's miss. He should NOT be a run first QB, but running when the primary receiver is covered should be an option. His 40 time should not be over 4.75. He does not need a cannon for an arm but if he does not have that cannon, he needs to be accurate.

He needs to be a team player both on he field and in the contract negotiating room. He needs to be respected by the other players and receptive to coaching. Super bowl rings need to be the goal, not regular season MVP's or the extra 20% in a contract.

Well guess what. The Packers have 2 such QB's on their roster, and neither is named Rodgers. And if either were the starting Packer QB, Davonte Adams and Z would probably still be Packers and the Packers would be in the chase for the best record in the regular season and a bye.

Because Love/Etling + Adams + Z >> Rodgers + Sammy.

And we're here watching the Lions and Rams game ticket prices plummet to lows that were unimaginable to Mark Murphy when his Titletown district plans were drawn up and approved.

I’m sure that is disheartening to a great many fans who finance their season ticket purchase by fleecing fellow fans who attend on a once-in-a-decade event type thing.

You're right ............ it could be payback to the many season ticket fleecers out there. Just wait until the Packers performance degrades to multiple back to back 4 or 5 win seasons ala the Forrest Gregg era and other well documented 1970s and 1980s losing seasons.

I'll sell anyone my Lions tickets at face value, and then go buy a ticket for half price. Nobody wants my Lions tickets. If Love starts then maybe the prices will go up, 'cuz it seems the Aaron Rodgers show is losing its luster. :rotf:
