We may have a full season of foolball, yet!!!

Goodell per PFT:
“The NFL clubs and NFL Players Association approved an agreement that broadly resolves all outstanding issues relating to the opening of training camps and start of the 2020 season. Training camps will begin as scheduled,” Goodell said. “We have worked collaboratively to develop a comprehensive set of protocols designed to minimize risk for fans, players, and club and league personnel. These plans have been guided by the medical directors of the NFL and the NFLPA and have been reviewed and endorsed by independent medical and public health experts, including the CDC, and many state and local public health officials. The season will undoubtedly present new and additional challenges, but we are committed to playing a safe and complete 2020 season, culminating with the Super Bowl.”
Cap minimum of $175 million for the 2021 season, regardless of revenue, while current season is at $198.2 million. That would be tough, but not unmanageable. Extensions would become hard to do.

Schneider overdrafts with his 1st round picks anyways and wastes the majority of them.

Still a horrible deal. You go from getting two potential high caliber players on rookie deals to having to pay big money to a safety.

Players are definitely starting to feel more entitled. Play out your rookie deal like everyone else and get your payday when it’s time.

Schneider is proof of how hitting on a stud QB in the draft can make you look much better than you actually are.

I mean this Covid thing could really change how I feel about this. If players like Aaron Jones or Kenny Clark have to see a 20% pay cut because of a loss in revenue due to timing.

If you draft a stud QB fans will love you forever even if you run the team into the ground and you miss out on a golden opportunity to be one of the greatest dynasties ever.

I dunno about the "dynasty" part. That's actually kinda the downside of having an elite QB: when it comes time to pay, you can no longer field a team with as many stars, and you need a lot more than a great QB.

The Pats dynasty was made possible by having a HOF QB at a much lower price-point than that would normally be required to keep him -- while being in a division where all three rival franchises (Jets, LOLphins, Bills) were totally incompetent.

There was a certain team in the league that had gotten an elite QB on a mid tier deal but squandered it by wasting draft pick after draft pick after 2010 and not bringing in any bargain FAs or making any trades that ended up being massive steals for later SB champions/runner ups.

I wonder who that idiot was.

I honestly pity you that 2-3 years later, news about the upcoming football season which was once in doubt, can only serve to act as a platform for you to complain about someone from the past. Move on; you'll be happier. We're all rooting for you.

This is not good for the prospects of a football season. Now we will see how this plays out. Marlins home opener cancelled tonight.

Pretty wild how the MLB is like this, and the MLS and NHL have ZERO positive tests. What is the difference?

I didn't think NHL started yet??

Very interesting that MLS hasn't had an issue and within 4 days of the season starting, MLB has.
