Didn't Taylor play out his option and sign with NO?
Yep. He and Lombardi never got along all that well either.

I was just referring to the fact that Vince didn't 'send' Taylor anywhere, Jimmy walked.

You are correct, he was a free agent. My bad. But he was one of the most loyal former Packers that was in every reunion.

I had the honor of meeting Jimmy and his wife at a sports card show in Virginia once ........ can't recall the year exactly. Sometime after 2002. He was always respectful of his offensive line that blocked for him.

The one that still bothers me was sending Jim Taylor to New Orleans. Lombardi lost a lot of respect in my eyes for doing that
Agreed. Jim Grabowski, Chuck Mercein and/or Ben Wilson were no Jimmy Taylor's. Putting Paul on that list wasn't a good idea either.

Paul's 1967 card. Jimmy did NOT have a 1967 card.

Man, I feel for the Majik Man. Football has left him a physically broken man.

No worries fellas. I've been sharing space in the Packers Hall of Fame with Vince for several years now. Not sure about Dominic though. :aok:

I remember watching that play as it happened. Our family living room erupted into cheers and high-fives after beating the hated Bears in such dramatic fashion. We all thought Marcol was just overly emotional after the play. Turns out he was likely on the brink of having a heart attack while in drug induced sensory overload…

In the same vein at the "Love" thread, do we really need cutsie posts like this, with someone who spent one Lombardi year with the Pack?
