I don't even remember if I wanted to re-sign Jones. I remember being happy about it at the time but I might have been ambivalent.
not only didn't you want to resign him, you said 95% of second contract RB's fail, which is a over the top % and just a generic guess, you also guessed that if Jones went elsewhere he would fail and probably be cut after just one season, none of that has come to pass. actually Jones has become one of the most productive players in the whole league, all the reservations people here had, money, health, talent, productivity, lacked merit.
Don't take this wrong, all those reason are valid with a lot of RB's, but to say those things about who Jones was two years ago didn't really apply, he was cusping, just reaching his prime, another 1500 yrd season again, over 7000 yrds in 6 seasons, Aaron Jones has been the best resign of Guty's career, not even close.
From the mid 3rd round of the draft to the USFL. Way to go Gutey.

I’m gonna go with the Niner defense doing better than the Eagles defense. Both offenses should be able to score 20 or more.
Come on down and try some of our delicious green chili! Best in the world!

Stuff like this is why I would support our Front Office just trading away every 3rd round pick

Agreed. Just use your third and 2nd to jump up to the late 1st or early 2nd round.Crazylegs Starks wrote: ↑29 Jan 2023 11:54Stuff like this is why I would support our Front Office just trading away every 3rd round pick
I don't know if I didn't want to re-sign him, but now that you mention it, I do remember figuring that he'd probably fail and be cut and wind up with us again, which I still think may have happened because offensive skill players do that from time to time. Like if he went somewhere that was a bad scheme fit and they also overpaid (neither of which happened).Yoop wrote: ↑28 Jan 2023 17:09not only didn't you want to resign him, you said 95% of second contract RB's fail, which is a over the top % and just a generic guess, you also guessed that if Jones went elsewhere he would fail and probably be cut after just one season, none of that has come to pass. actually Jones has become one of the most productive players in the whole league, all the reservations people here had, money, health, talent, productivity, lacked merit.

Guard may be his best fit, I'am surely not against have PB guards, if ya want to be a running the ball offense then why draft for pass pro success, which is a fair description of our drafting myers over that other C we passed on to take him, I think everyone here liked the other guy more.
I know Jenkins looked out of place at RT, but some of that could be just rust and lack of playing time for a year, I hope we don't have to move him, but still think he could do that better now that he trust his leg more and has played himself back into his previous form.
Jenkins was a great draft pick, Myers, not so much.

Story Time from the internet
Bobby Dillon, the Packers leading INT record holder & Pro Football HOF member, had a glass eye.
In one game, his glass eye popped out and a referee asked him: “Bobby, what would you do if you lost your other eye?”
Dillon answered: “Become an official!”
Dillon recorded 52 INTs during his short career in GB...
I'm kinda wondering about playing DB and depth perception with only 1 eye !

And Packers have 2 of em. Bo Melton and Watson and they trained together at the 2022 combine

When it came time to travel to Indianapolis for the NFL Scouting Combine, the light-hearted competition between Watson and Melton to see who would come out on top reached its apex.
The Winner? Melton, by two-hundredths of a second.

Rodgers gave a big endorsement of Bisaccia:

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers might not know if he'll play in the NFL again but he's certain about one thing: Rich Bisaccia should be an NFL head coach.
"If anyone ever called me as a reference, one name that has been floating around out there who I would give a ringing endorsement to is Rich Bisaccia," Rodgers said during his Tuesday appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show," referencing the Packers' special teams coordinator. "I'm a tremendous, tremendous fan of his."
