While I didn't like Chuck Howley because he played for the Cowboys and he was a rather dirty player, he was a very good LB. One of the best in the game in the late 60s and early 70s.

I didn't get why you even mentioned Don Coryell, he certainly deserves induction imo, I doubt Vainisi will ever get in, it was terrible of the FO and Vince for not giving him more status for what he'd accomplished, the board we had back then where just a bunch of wannabe football people, when in reality they where well intentioned high ranking city boys, after Vince left they resorted back to the same aimless direction of the 50's.

I didn't get why you even mentioned Don Coryell, he certainly deserves induction imo, I doubt Vainisi will ever get in, it was terrible of the FO and Vince for not giving him more status for what he'd accomplished, the board we had back then where just a bunch of wannabe football people, when in reality they where well intentioned high ranking city boys, after Vince left they resorted back to the same aimless direction of the 50's.

If Coryell was elected for his "AIR" prowess (which I suppose he deserves along with Fouts, Winslow, Joiner), then Billy Howton should be elected based on the well documented NFreakingL fact that when Billy Howton retired from the NFL he was the ALL Freaking Time NFL leader in pass receptions and receiving yards which was another "AIR" trailblazing achievement at a time that pre-dated the AIR Coryell era (as was Don Hutson's 99 TD receptions a trailblazing achievement) Non-Hall of Famer Billy Howton had 61 TD receptions in a non-AIR Coryell era). For comparison, Hall of Famer Charlie Joiner had 65 TD receptions.

As stated previously numerous times: Sharpe, Gillingham, Howton, Lewellen, Dilweg. Then I suppose it should be the TENTMAN. Get these 5 guys in before the TENTMAN emerges as a candidate

ya left out Tobin Rote, both Howton and Rote where mostly players of losing teams, the 50's Packers had some good players, just not enough, add in the poor coaching, and it warps the recognition of the stars.

I really don't get your dislike for Rodgers besides just the personal aspect, as a player though he is one of the best passers to play the position, 40 years from now I expect that will still be true, thats what makes him a first ballot choice imho.

Plus his leadership attributes have become awfully stale.

His 4X All-Pro stat is right up there with Lewellen (4X) and Dilweg (5X). There are 6 Packers with more All-Pro selections that have not had their number retired. Here's the list: Forrest Gregg, Jim Ringo, Willie Davis, Herb Adderley, Jerry Kramer, Lavvie Dilweg. So put him in the Hall of Fame but do NOT retire his number.
