Yeah for like what $4.5 million?

We HAVE to put a 2nd round tender on Yosh.

KC would make a TON of sense.
time to put a muzzle on MVS, he's trying to gut the Packers roster 8-)
Packers front office if KC "guts" us of Yosh Nijmam with a 2nd round pick.

Njiman isn’t that good. A 2nd for him is highway robbery. Hell a 3rd for is a good deal. The dude is just a good backup or below average starter at OT. He’s basically Billy Turder.

Yosh at best is a Packer for only another year anways. Other teams will pay him way too much when he becomes a UFA.

We have a lot of young promising tackles. I am not all that more uncomfortable rolling with Rasheed Walker or Caleb Jones over Yosh Nijman.

Like you said....Yosh isn't at least liability. But that's about it. Yosh has value to teams who can't risk a liability. But we are in a position where we can risk that.

I don't disagree that he WAS a below average starter. He's better at LT than Turner, now. He's also young and should be progressing.

I mean getting a starter at LT who isn't bad for ~4 million for a year, and you can negotiate off that. For a team in a pinch, expecting to compete and not having the cap space. The alternative is try to find someone that plug and play at LT in the draft in the 2nd round or pay maybe $12M on the open market for a player of his caliber.

Would never expect it because it's incredibly rare for someone to be signed off a RFA tender, but all the dots are there just needing to be connected.

I would be shocked if a team gives up a 2nd for Njiman. I would love to have him at 4.5 but I would love the 2nd even more. I think there is talent at OT at the top of this class. I really like Johnson, Skoronski, Jones, and Wright. I hate the Harrison guy if hes going early.

I don’t mind Duncan or Steen if we were to make a move up in the 2nd for an OT.

If we keep Bak you still have him and Tom. Without Bak you have deep group of young OTs already on the roster to include someone in this draft class. Jenkins was a bad RT but looked really good as a LT. There are options. If this forum can tout Billy Turder for being a good OT the standard is low. We can find something.

So we are all in agreement. We have to slap that 2nd round tender on Yosh

Michael Lombardi says Matt Stafford is fully available via trade:

With this contract ($57m) especially for an older QB who's had injury woes as of late, I really doubt there is much of a market for him.

Yup. Contrast him and Rodgers. Rodgers has had some injuries. But he’s played through them. Stafford, like early in his career, has had trouble staying on the field at times.

Wild. I guess this explains the GM effusively backing him and calling him a pillar of the ram to build around. Doth protest too much?

Yes and No. Rodgers missed games in 2013 and 2017 due to injury. Stafford missed games in 2009, 2010, 2019, and 2022 due to injury. Yes, he has been injured more than Rodgers, but it has been more big injuries in those 4 seasons, not where he has missed several games in a bunch of seasons due to smaller injuries. Outside of those years, neither QB has missed a game due to injury.

Rodgers would be a tomb right now if he had played behind those lions OLs for years. Rodgers has had generally good protection in GB. Stafford is not a brittle guy. I think rams just shut him down last year when they lost hope of making playoffs.

Some buzz that New England could pursue Lamar Jackson

No one can actually talk to Lamar until free agency starts on the 15th, so we have nothing but rumors until then; but could you imagine the pressure on that division if the Pats throw Mac Jones to the Raiders and go after Jackson? Jackson and Allen and all

and unlike the Packers, the Ravens wont be giving any team permission to talk to him sooner, so Lamar is in a holding pattern right now.

imo he is a RPO QB, not specially accurate passer, and lack patience in the pocket, I'd think that narrows the teams that would be interested in him, I have trouble believing Belichick would want that type of QB, but who knows, Qb's with RB ability are a tough chore for any defense.

2022 was the last gasp for that Zimmer team.
Kudos to the new HC for pulling together a winning season, but this tear- down was inevitable given all the expensive graybeards on the roster
Kark has a $20 M roster bonus due in March - I think the vikes plug their nose and pay it. IF they decide extend Cousins instead, then that would be absolutely wonderful. 10 more years at least

Not to single out Yoop, I've seen this said multiple times by multiple posters, but what makes people say this?

Jackson has a career comp% just under 64%, a career passer rating of 96.7 and a TD/INT ratio of 101/38. Dude is a legit QB.

https://www.pro-football-reference.com/ ... ckLa00.htm

And yeah, he can run like a mf'er, too.

Contrast that to Rodgers career 65.3 comp%, 103.6 passer rating, and 475/105 TD/INT ratio and we're not talking a huge gap.

Explain this to me, please.

Jackson thrives in the offense designed around his skills, he would struggle in other offenses that depend more heavily on certain throws
His completion percentage is a reflection of the types of passes he threw but its not a given he'd be as successful in a different system.
There's nothing wrong with that type of play, but you have to be willing to commit to it- and not every OC/HC wants that. I think BB would be a great fit, he's shown the ability to embrace different styles of play on both sides of the ball.

I think Lamar Jackson is a very very good QB. Top 10, probably could find a more restrictive number if I made myself a list.
