Lazard deal kind of **skewed considering they had to sign him to get 12. So he could sort of name his price because jets feared if they didn’t pony up, they wouldn’t get 12.

I mean yes but all they had to do was beat the next best offer. So it’s not skewed by much.
Jakobi Myers got a similar contract with a lifetime of 800 yard seasons. MVS got $10M/year last year. This is just the market now.

At this point (after Lazard signature), would we not say that it’s a done deal for 12 to NYJ? Then, why won’t they just come out and say it?

Yeah, don't get why that is confusing, 600-900 are quality #2 numbers. Top the market WR's getting 20-25. #2's getting in that 9-13M range.YoHoChecko wrote: ↑14 Mar 2023 15:52I mean yes but all they had to do was beat the next best offer. So it’s not skewed by much.

I don’t disagree that it’s an average paycheck for an average reciever in a new market…but they had to beat more than the offers that were out there, but they had to pay him enough to make him say “yes” immediately..so they could continue to Rodgers.YoHoChecko wrote: ↑14 Mar 2023 15:52I mean yes but all they had to do was beat the next best offer. That number could be much higher than other offers, high enough for Lazard to stop looking at what’s out there
I meant skewed not screwed btw

Nice try, but I am not falling for this.
You denied the veracity of the report that NYJ was negotiating with Lazard and acted like it was a baseless rumor, even though Rapoport has a long history of being a reliable source, and accused people who believed it of inhaling manure.
Well, Lazard signed with NY hours after the report, so it had plenty of basis.
Of course, one of your main talking-points to defend Rodgers is that big bad Gute makes him play with WRs who he doesn't want because they are bad, like Lazard who "trips over his own feet" or whatever. So you had to deny the report, because Rodgers being content with Lazard being one of his top targets totally disproves your Rodgers fan-fiction novela.
WHO'S EATING MANURE NOW?!?!?!?

I just want to know the compensation.
I could genuinely go from elated to deflated based on realistic compensation scenarios. The range of possible outcomes is so wide

That would be so stupid for the Jets. You can't take away the one potential star for Rodgers.BF004 wrote: ↑14 Mar 2023 16:12Garrett Wilson and their 4th in 2023 and 2024YoHoChecko wrote: ↑14 Mar 2023 16:08I just want to know the compensation.

The compensation needs to be draft picks. And I am honestly okay if we get 2024 draft picks (though I would really love pick #13)
NO, I denied the report that Rodgers was brokering this deal, and still do, and Rapoport is wrong just as much as he's right, just like the rest of these prognosticators, you bought it hook, line, and sinker, just as you and others here do often.
I don't like listening to second hand hear say, to often it's proven false, when the Jets say we took Rodgers advice and signed Lazard, I'am all ears

Yeah, but not gonna lie, that "Rodgers for a ham sandwich" offer is looking pretty good.YoHoChecko wrote: ↑14 Mar 2023 16:08I just want to know the compensation.

Yeah, I said realistic. They are not trading the offensive rookie of the year after one year of rookie contract.BF004 wrote: ↑14 Mar 2023 16:12Garrett Wilson and their 4th in 2023 and 2024YoHoChecko wrote: ↑14 Mar 2023 16:08I just want to know the compensation.

I'am starting to have doubts we get there slot #13 pick, and we surely wont get Garret, this drug out far to long, you should be happy the Jets didn't back out of this deal. we'd have been stuck with a QB we openly said we didn't want.go pak go wrote: ↑14 Mar 2023 16:16That would be so stupid for the Jets. You where right, Murphy should have kept his yap shut, actually though it's possible this deal was done before he even said that, and compensation and the open Tampering date was all thats held acknowledgement up.
I expect a 2nd rounder this year and another next season contingent on AR's performance, could be a 1 next season

Wasn't realistic.
I think 13 and 45 swap
Conditional '24 pick, between nothing and up to a 2nd, maybe structed in a way if Aaron is on roster at league new year (tomorrow, but in a year), he gets like a $20M bonus. Meaning if he is retiring, he retires before he gets that. 2nd round pick if they make SB, 3rd if playoffs, 4th if on roster, nothing if he is moved to the reserved/retire list, then we would get that pick.
Not sure how possible that is and if that can be gamed by Jets and/or Aaron, but have smarter people than me design it.

whatever gets him on a bus to NY is a win, win at this stage the team doesn't want him back, they made that obvious, can you imagine Rodgers coming back to be Loves clip board holder for 59 mil.Crazylegs Starks wrote: ↑14 Mar 2023 16:16Yeah, but not gonna lie, that "Rodgers for a ham sandwich" offer is looking pretty good.YoHoChecko wrote: ↑14 Mar 2023 16:08I just want to know the compensation.

We know when the decision will be made. Rodgers gets his "Lebron James moment"
