Packers Prospect Interest and Meetings

Does anybody know if there are rules around visiting players ?
I know there are limitations on how many can visit GB - but is there anything stopping Gute from going to visit a player in their hometown ?

I'm pretty sure there are limits to where they can visit, but I have read that the Raiders have been visiting guys at their athletic training centers where multiple prospects work out, so there is definitely some sort of option for that sort of travel. I think it is only allowed if it's taking place in publicly-available things, though, or else it counts as a private visit.
But since working out at a complex is not a scheduled event, you likely can get the prospects to yourself mostly.

I was hoping for East Carolina WR CJ Johnson to get some insight on his character concerns, but this guy seems good too
Seems like a Swervin Ervin type.

Height doesn’t bother me at RB. But his weight is a no go for meBF004 wrote: ↑04 Apr 2023 14:26Isn't he like 5'7"YoHoChecko wrote: ↑03 Apr 2023 11:14

Packers Wire says WR Dontyavion Hicks coming for a visit
https://packerswire.usatoday.com/2023/0 ... on-wicks/?
Wicks (6-1, 206) set Virginia’s single-season receiving yards record with 1,203 yards in 2021. He finished his collegiate career with 34 catches of at least 20 yards and six touchdowns of at least 40 yards, highlighting his big-play ability. In 2021, he averaged 21.1 yards per catch.
Poor 40 in the combine, but re-tested at 4.52

Twitter loves this fit for the Packers. He apparently hit all the metrics and is big-ish with long armsBSA wrote: ↑04 Apr 2023 15:14Packers Wire says WR Dontyavion Hicks coming for a visit

He's feels mediocre to me. Like a guy you take knowing full well his ceiling is a role player. But that can be ok. If we take him, then fine. He can be a STer and our WR4/5 for a few years before moving along and bouncing around the league

He is older than Love but I’d be shocked if hooker lasts to the 3rd.
SHOCKED I say.
They’re starting to talk about Saints or Bucs in round one, but that feels rich.
Good due diligence, but unlikely to hit at the right times. Unless we do it in the 2nd. I mean, stranger things have happened. But I would be disappointed.
Brian Brohm type insurance, we didn't need him back then, and hope we don't now, I'd also be disappointed, just as I was back with the Brohm pick.YoHoChecko wrote: ↑04 Apr 2023 19:08He is older than Love but I’d be shocked if hooker lasts to the 3rd.

Yeah. I think we have a greater number of immediate needs now than we recognized in 2008 (though the season indicated we had more than we thought)
Tough to spend on a backup plan at QB when we need an EDGE, a safety, a TE or two, a WR or two, a DL or two, and an OL that can reasonably be expected to play a rotational or spot duty role this year.
right, as I said before Love looks more ready then Rodgers did pre start to me, so I'am hoping Guty wont feel the need to pad his pick as much as Ted did, remember he also took Flynn in the 7th that season, it is such a needy position, and ya just can't really know how well a newbie will take to starting game after game till ya see them succeed under all out pass rush a few games.YoHoChecko wrote: ↑04 Apr 2023 21:00Yeah. another reason why I could see a Tackle taken with slot 15, Love will need all the help he can get, pass rush is a QB's worst enemy.
A depth chart reading Love Hooker...

I kept on looking at Mitchell when I was doing mocks. He just kept popping up around the 5th or 6th round. I didn’t think he’d fit the Packers with his body type. But maybe he has enough other good features that he could fit our offense without 12. (Meaning, maybe we finally start using a speedy RB/slot guy like more than ever.)BF004 wrote: ↑04 Apr 2023 14:26Isn't he like 5'7"YoHoChecko wrote: ↑03 Apr 2023 11:14

Come on down and try some of our delicious green chili! Best in the world!
He almost seems like more of a Lowry replacement at 5-Tech than a true EDGE at 285 lbs
More here.

White (6-5, 285) was an All-ACC selection in 2022 after producing 7.5 sacks and 14 tackles for loss over 12 games. He will be busy during the pre-draft visit period, with as many as eight other visits including the Packers.
According to PFF, White had 41 pressures over 583 snaps last season.
The redshirt senior is 24 years old.

Oh man. He was in a TON of first round mocks around Senior Bowl time. He, like Karl Brooks, played standup, pass rush, interior, pass coverage in college even at that size. A guy who has incredible versatility but you’re not sure what translates.
Cool that we’re interested, since I’m way in on the hybrid DL guys this year like Brooks, Adeboware, and White.
I think he slipped under Packers draft radars because so many felt he was a 20-35ish puck kind of guy early. But you’re right that his buzz sort of faded. He probably got drowned out by the Adeboware buzz when a similarly sized/role player put up shocking numbers at the combine.
But he’s been a legit guy throughout the postseason process and by most accounts has better take than Adeboware. Just sort of missed our normal circles, kind of like Tucker Kraft at TE. Perfectly legitimate prospect/need/draft stock fit that is so often a second or third choice that he doesn’t get mentioned.
