Apparently, Guty implied that if the trade isn’t done by (or during) the draft, that “everything changes.” I didn’t see the article that would tell what “everything” means. Firewall thingy…
He said that in his combine public statements, I believe. Everything seemed mean the type of compensation involved in the negotiations, given that 2023 picks are off the table and they basically have to start from scratch.

Let's get real for a change of pace here on the insanity thread.

Jets open the preseason vs. the Browns on August 4th in the Hall of Fame game. Potentially 2 "tools" will be on their respective sidelines. With emphasis on the word "potentially".
Go Packers!

Newest reports from insiders:

1.) The groundwork for the deal is largely in place.
2.) Jets unlikely to send #13 overall.
3.) Trade is expected to occur on Day 2 of the draft (during the event).

Nope. Ed West was a toolbox, not a tool.

Answer: Rodgers and Watson.

Ah, yeah, read your comment as two tools on Jets. And of course Ed West was the tool box, was looking for someone to be the 'tool shed', or the 'utility tool'.

Having #15 and 3 high 2nd round picks would be OK. #15 for a pass rusher and a safety, a TE and a RT in the 2nd would cure the major problems. I would not complain too much.

I sure hope it won't go to day 2... AR has already ruined one 1st round for me, 2nd would be cruel.

Also, Gutey would probably insist on having all the draft ammo at hand day 1 to maximize trade options.

If it isn't happening prior to day 1 (before 13), I don't see it happening until after June 1.

Yeah. Rapoport and Schefter are well-connected so I take interest in their reports. Florio could have some solid sources but I am less inclined to believe him.

Sure thing. The way that article is written, Florio doesn’t even say “sources” but it’s more like, if I were the GM, this is how I’d do the trade. Or something to that effect. He doesn’t see the Pack getting 13, so to him, it only makes sense once the 2nd round comes along.

That’s fine for neighbor to neighbor banter. But it isn’t good reporting.

In other words, Gute is gonna get smoked if this is how it goes down. As expected.
