Odds have swung back to Bryce Young as #1 Overall:

Here's Bill Huber at SI with his list of Packer-specific sleepers

Yoho mentioned one of them already - WR Andrei Iosivas

https://www.si.com/nfl/packers/news/hun ... aster-eggs

Ever year, there are at least a few receivers like Iosivas – small-school guys with big-school skill-sets at 6-foot-3 and with 4.43 speed in the 40. A first-team FCS All-American, he caught 66 passes for 943 yards and seven touchdowns. Oh, and he was an All-American in the heptathlon.
Jacob Morley noted him as well, as only one a few guys, maybe like 4-5 I think, that meet all historical criteria the packers have seem to favor since the Ted administration.

Starts around 10:30 on Iosivas

For your reading pleasure. My first mock (and maybe my last) of the year. Not going to say much about each guy. But I think they all fit. Plus many of them have been top 30 visits.

TRADE
Packers receive #22, 2024 2nd rounder, and Rashod Bateman
Ravens receive #15 and 2024 4th.
Packers were very interested in Bateman so its an interesting option. Plus we upgrade a pick next year.

#22 - Michael Mayer, TE, Notre Dame
I don't like the idea of 1st round TE's either. But once they got Bateman and the other likely OT or EDGE options were already taken, he seems like a likely pick.

TRADE
Packers receive #43
Jets receive Aaron Rodgers
In this scenario, I assume we get some sort of extra 2024 compensation as well.

#43 - Will McDonald IV, EDGE, Iowa State
#45 - Cody Mauch, OT, North Dakota State

TRADE
We do more business with the Ravens.
Packers receive #86 and #124
Ravens receive #78

#86 - Jammie Robinson, S, Florida State
#116 - Zacch Pickens, DT, South Carolina
#124 - Dontayvion Wicks, WR, Virginia
#149 - Cory Trice Jr., CB, Purdue
#170 - Josh Whyle, TE, Cincinnati
#232 - Lew Nichols III, RB, Central Michigan
#242 - Sean Clifford, QB, Penn State
#256 - Jake Moody, K, Michigan

What about Calijah Kancey? If he is an Aaron Donald clone then he should be a good fit for Joe Barry's defense. He should be available at #15 and may be a trade back option even.

Love the trade for Bateman and also the TE at slot 22, best thing for a young QB is lots of players to throw to, Meyer is more total package 3 down TE, but then so can be KIncaid, I'd take either one, and use them this season in the slot, I'am convinced that the reason TE is a D&D position is do to the blocking assignments, so just use them as a receiver year one, just my two cents, I like McDonald and Mauch to, the rest I'am not read up on.

I to have a strong feeling that TE could be the first pick, that bleacher report article shows teams do feature TE's, 6 where thrown to over a 100 times in 2021, we have went without for so long, and now imho Lafleurs schemes would be perfect for a big receiver burning the interior.

nice to see you posting Paco :aok:

Zero immediate need, but I wants ILB Jack Campbell. Perhaps in a year to replace our current Campbell. A think fast, act fast ILB, with a body to act fast and physical based on what the brain predicts.

Also, Mike Wahle's YouTube channel is a hidden gem like JT O'Sullivan's QB School. They may not be scouts, but sure as heck offer a LOT of insight into prospects with their raw analysis with actual NFL experience backing it up.

Hard not to like him. But also hard to commit that much early draft capital at ILB.

That checks most of my boxes, at least with the early picks. I’d also like to trade some 2024 capital for another 2nd round pick this year and snatch another WR.
Come on down and try some of our delicious green chili! Best in the world!

I really enjoy Wahle's channel- some great stuff in there. And while he sees the world through OL eyes, he's well-versed enough in the game to bring even more to the table. Good stuff and very well done

Between Waton, Doubs,Toure, Bateman, and Wicks; I'm ok with that 5. Plus I was a fan of Melton and think he sticks. Maybe add in another cheap free agent. Not an overly impressive WR class from the sounds of it. Draft another in '24.

I really hope we don’t draft Wicks.

I know he fits Packers thresholds, but it feels like such a low ceiling player. It’s like giving up on upside and just accepting in advance that you’re drafting a useful JAG

Useful JAGs are absolutely good Day Three picks. Don’t get me wrong. But you want at least the change that they’ll be something else.

former personnel guy, Rick Spielman says he'd pound the table for this player, he's been mentioned here before as a potential CB --S conversion

Quan Jartavius Martin, DB, Illinois

"Martin is getting overshadowed by his college teammate, Devon Witherspoon (scouting report).
But, when you watch him on tape, he plays the slot cornerback (nickel) position with intelligence.

He has all of the physical attributes you look for. He can run and cover, and is more than willing enough as a hitter. In a few games I watched, Illinois’ coaches even moved him to outside cornerback, but many teams might project him to free safety.

This safety class is not very deep, so teams will look at players like Martin, who can do multiple things for their defense. If you put him back at free safety, with the savvy and football intelligence he plays with, there is no doubt he has a chance to be a good NFL free safety. "

from Brugler:

SUMMARY:
A five-year starter at Illinois, Martin played the nickel “star” position in former defensive coordinator Ryan Walters’ nickel base, rotating between the slot and single-high. Originally a boundary corner and safety for the Illini, he moved to the slot as a junior (when Walters arrived) and combined for 22 passes defended and four interceptions the past two years. Martin is an alert player with the on-field athletic twitch that didn’t disappoint at the NFL combine (his 1.44 10-yard split,44-inch vertical and 11-1 broad jump ranked No. 1 among safeties at the combine). Though he covers a ton of ground, he can be a 90-10 player at times – coverage looks great the first 90 percent of the play but loses phase late attempting to find the football and make a play (see his touchdown allowed on 2022 Purdue tape).
Overall, Martin needs to become a better finisher, but he is an outstanding athlete with cover skills, tackling attitude and above-average football character. Though he offers experience across the secondary, he is best suited inside as a nickel defender

Schefter betting 2 QBs don’t go before pick 4. He’s saying the Texans aren’t going to take a QB. That is interesting. Says that Bryce Young cancelled all his pre draft visits so he’s going first and the Texans want to build their defense.

Honestly I agree. I really think this is a bad QB class. The small QBs don’t last. Stroud is insanely accurate but no college QB has had better talent around him in a long time. Richardson could develop but as things stand he can’t throw. Levis is booty butt cheeks. I’d get who I think is the best player if I don’t believe in the QBs.

With that he claims no one wants to trade to 3 because they know QBs will fall. That didn’t make sense to me but who knows.

And yet the heat on Levis going #2 (probably via a trade) is going up. Going to be interesting to see how it plays out.

I'll never understand this. Poor decision by the player or poor advice by his agent. You don't know how the draft will go, what trades may happen. Talk to everyone who wants to talk to you. If you have to fly to 32 cities, fly to 32 cities.
