I'am pulling for the Jets to do well simply because it amounts to better draft value.
Actually the opposite it true.

We want Aaron to play 12+ games and the JEts to go 0-17 and we get Pick #1.

1st/2nd round simply tied to Aaron playing 65% of snaps. Nothing tied to Jets record.

It better for us if Aaron plays all season and Jets make a deep playoff run than if Aaron gets hurt and Jets go like 5-12

I will say last time we had this setup, with the Saints, kind of sucked, Saints kept winning, what did we get, pick 29?

Really hoping we get much better this time around.

If the Jets are 0-9 they’re shutting Rodgers down to keep the pick.

if they're 0-9 then we are at least looking at a low 30's pick at the top of the second. Best case scenario is probably a similar to last season for us result. Jets start slow and play just good enough to have a chance for most of the season and end up with 6-8 wins. Frankly if Rodgers sucks and the Jets are terrible Douglas is probably gone anyway after making that trade. Maybe he pulls a Lovie and says screw you guys and let's Rodgers play :)

So let's hope they get to like 4-6, lose, sit Rodgers, he still just squeeks out 65% of snaps, they go 4-13.

Probably the absolute best case we could get.

Y’all too funny. No way they are below 500 with Rodgers and that D.

I think you may be confusing best case scenario and expectations.

Can you see the poll on the top of this page? Does this seem like a group of people who are expecting the Jets to go below .500?

I am setting my expectations for our NYJ pick as low as possible: Rodgers gets injured and we get a 2, or he plays the year out and does well and we pick very late 1. So in my head it's like pick 25 or later.

But if they oblige us a better pick.... :aok: :aok:

Unless Rodgers gets hurt, he will get the 65% of the snaps. They won’t shut him down because that would mean they need to play the former starter. And we and the Jets alike know how that went.
Come on down and try some of our delicious green chili! Best in the world!

12 of 32

I guess 12 + Love technically too.

Anyone from 2020 already extended? Can’t think of anyone other than Hurts who wasn’t in the first round.

13/32

Let's try to steer this back to expectations for the Jets in '24 and how that impacts the draft for us. Which is extremely relevant for this thread.
And less just solely about our 20/21 rosters. Perhaps we could split the draft thread into two this year, actual prospect discussion and one for possible draft picks.
again players don't play the same year after year, and I do expect Lazard to be about the same though, he's a big possession receivers that struggles to separate so it's doubtful he sees more targeted throws, he could even decline some because the Jets do have Wilson headed into year two and may bring in more help or improvements from others already on the roster.

I'am pulling for the Jets to do well simply because it amounts to better draft value.

Jennings was a monster receiver, and Monster mal content, true stud as long as he was getting all the attention and targets, but when Nelson and Cobb broke out big, Greg was un willing to share the spot light, whined to his sister, and she told him to get out of GB :rotf:

he played a big roll in our SB win, I think 2 TD's, Jennings was the first of Teddy T's marvelous 2nd round WR picks, again it's baffling that someone so good at doing something would quit doing it, Teddy, what in the world happened to you

Oh ya I don't want to forget his comment about Packer brass brainwashing the players, but heck we all new that was true, every malcontent that ever left prior or sense says the same thing

I brought a bleacher report clip, but it wont paste.

Mod edit: fixed

why not? he's played just as good of teams while with us, just maybe not as many in one season, but I believe in the better competition ya face the better it can make you principal, in fact I think the easier schedule may have been the culprit for several of our PO losses :idn:
