Lack of hotel rooms only problem.

I will rent my house in Oshkosh, 45 minutes away only. Packers Huddle discount, $1500 per night.

My parents live less than a mile from Lambeau. I could probably talk them into $3000/night.

I really hope they can pull it off but I have my concerns.

Already talking to my draft group (all packer fans) and everyone agrees that this could be bad. KC brought in over 300000 ppl. Nashville was over 600000. I hope I'm wrong but GB will struggle with those numbers

On the plus side. My brothers wife's fam lives less then a mile from the stadium, they already said the house is ours for the week haha

Agreed. I just don't believe GB has the lodging to accommodate everyone in attendance to these things. I suppose they'll have to have some stay in Appleton...

I’m happy for GB. Just objectively don’t think it’s a great location to host a draft.

Not a ton of restaurants, not a lot of lodging, not equipped for the vehicle traffic. Expensive.

But all that said, very cool for the org!!

I find it hard to believe there won't be enough food, lodging and transportation to get everyone where they need to go. If it all blows up, then those people can say I told you so. But give them the chance.

I agree and he made the exact same point that I did in this forum last year when we were discussing this about Nashville. No one was walking out their hotel door and boom, there is The Draft. So figure out the transportation aspect of it and it doesn't really matter if it's a 5 minute ride or a 45 minute ride... just factor it in.

He makes a good point about EAA. It brings in 700,000+ visitors to a town of 70,000. I live in Oshkosh, and if you avoid the south side of town you would hardly know the event was happening. And lodging snd transportation are fine. People rent their houses. The university rents dorms. There are shuttles to and from the EAA complex/airport.

seriously when was the last time you where in GB? your comments imo are very outdated, there are a lot of new restaurants, and traffic flows in and out of GB a lot better since the highway improvements, and lodging also wont be the issue you think it will, again if the EAA can accommodate 700,000 for a week end, then so can GB for the draft

The city of Strugis is like 5,000 people. The Black Hills as a whole is a lot smaller than the Fox River area. Sturgis hosts anywhere from 500k to 700k people over a week time frame.

If Sturgis can do it, Green Bay can do it.

cool, first of all, those are terrible colors on those chairs though, the room designer needs to get on board with team colors they look blue and yellow.

don't know why you think it's a traffic problem, once on the expressway traffic moves along well, and Lambeau is not far from the expressway, I've dealt with it at rush hour and it's a lot faster then it was a few years back.

I agree Lodging and eatery's wont compare to Vegas or a large metro city, so if your going, book arrangements well in advance, AirBB will have a bunch of rentals available if ya book early, and stock up on frozen diners

Biggest concern will be Highway 41 during rush hour. It's already a nightmare if someone gets pulled over or there's an accident. My hunch is that a lot of regular commuters will take alternate routes that week.

We always rent houses when we go to the draft. We were about 5 miles out. Nashville had it set up perfect and was the best draft exp. They shut most of downtown off to car traffic. You could walk and drink anywhere. Cabs and Ubers were a plenty waiting in designated areas. They routed most to the area to 1 ways so traffic was seldom bad. That city knew what they were doing.

I'm happy for GB and I hope it is grand but GB is not Nashville. The traffic out of GB sucks after Packer games so unless they do some rerouting it's going to be a zoo. Just being honest not rooting against GB

And bukowski was turned into an absolute tool. I listened today and he comes with no backing on his statements. Just throws out bs.

Cleveland fell on their face even in a COVID year of 100000. They didn't set it up to flow well. Many bars and restaurants didn't cater to the event. Hell Vegas &%$@ the bed also. Yea it's Vegas and they thought that alone was good enough but the set and access to the NFL stuff was horrible. (Not to say we didn't have great times at either)

Anyway it will be interesting to see what the city of GB does and I hope they put a ton of effort into all aspects. I hope local bars and restaurants take advantage and throw all day events and cater to all fan bases.

I rolled through Sturgis the weekend AFTER the big rally one year and so all the outdoor spaces were still open but no people were there and it looked like a hurricane had blown through, haha (including random debris scattered about, haha)

In today's press conference they said they're expecting around 240,000. And they're talking to Amtrak to see if Amtrak is willing to shuttle people via trains from and to Milwaukee. They're still not sure if they'll put the draft stage inside Lambeau or in the Resch Center.

This'll be really cool.

I plan to just stay home and watch it on TV.
