Biggest concern will be Highway 41 during rush hour. It's already a nightmare if someone gets pulled over or there's an accident. My hunch is that a lot of regular commuters will take alternate routes that week.
Long past due they make that 3 lanes all the way to Appleton. Hopefully they fast track that now and just go 4 lanes the whole way. 😛

Same goes for 172, that needs another 2 lanes too.

The 41 project between Appleton and GB is supposed to start in 2025 and take around 4 years. 172 is fine.

Maybe we can send all the Bears and Vikings fans out to sea.

Disagree on 172, it’s awful at rush hour, way worse than 41 after games, after having made the drive to Manitowoc many times after. Would be a lot better, but they make everyone merge into 1 lane to get onto 43 south. That is the part that kills. I think you’ve underestimated have quickly the ledgview area has grown and is still growing in de pere.

It's been about 15 years since I've been to Green Bay. I'd love to make it out for the draft or better yet a game. It'd be cool to do a forum meetup.

I am over by GV (Ledgeview/Bellevue area) often. It has grown in the past 20 years but not a crazy amount. I am on 172 often around rush hour. 172 is fine for day-to-day (there is some construction project now where 41 and 172 meet, not sure what they are doing or when it will be done). I could see how getting from 172 to 43 south after a game would cause a backup, but traffic backed up for an hour or two 8 times a year isn't worth the $$$ to expand IMO.

A forum tailgate/meetup would be a superb event assuming the entire cast of characters would behave. :rotf:

The city of Strugis is like 5,000 people. The Black Hills as a whole is a lot smaller than the Fox River area. Sturgis hosts anywhere from 500k to 700k people over a week time frame.

If Sturgis can do it, Green Bay can do it.
I rolled through Sturgis the weekend AFTER the big rally one year and so all the outdoor spaces were still open but no people were there and it looked like a hurricane had blown through, haha (including random debris scattered about, haha)
Yeah. Sturgis is kind of disgusting to be honest.

But I guess some people really like it.

My wife and I are avid Harley-Davidson riders but not typical "biker" people. We talked about a Sturgis trip some day but, honestly, I'd much rather go to the Outer Banks for Bike Week or Daytona (one of several FL MC celebrations) before going to Sturgis. I've heard much the same of what you guys are describing as far as just being gross. I love a good party as much as the next guy but not big on living in a pigsty.

And yeah, I think bringing up Sturgis as an example for GB and the draft is a poor choice. Completely different venue and accommodation expectation. I don't think we'll see thousands make the trek to GB only to stay in a tent in April/May timeframe.
