All-Time Packers

I don't you if you guys and gals want to spend whatever green and gold brain cells you have left on this or not, but it occurred to me that there is a significant difference between who people think is the "All-Time Packers Team" and the "All-Time Packers". Here's one version of the All-Time Packers team:

Not surprising really. Starr ahead of Favre and Rodgers. Taylor ahead of Green. Receivers/Ends: Hutson and Lofton. Coffman at TE. Kramer ahead of Gillingham and Thurston at guard. Ringo at Center. Gregg at Offensive Tackle. Adderley, Wood, Woodson and Butler in the defensive backfield. Matthews, Robinson and Nitschke at Linebacker. Reggie White, Gilbert Brown, Henry Jordan and Willie Davis on the defensive line. Plus a few of the Curly Lambeau era players that are in the Hall of Fame (Hinkle, Hubbard, Michalske). And Ryan Longwell and Craig Hentrich. Travis Williams (Returner).

But what about the "All-Time Packers"? Here is my list..........NOT BY POSITION, but by their status as an All-Time Packer player regardless of position or Hall of Fame status (when I think of these guys I think of them as all-time Packers:

I read somewhere that last year was our best for off season conditioning, and we had the least hamstring issues we've had in a decade, McCarthy always seemed to border on the side of caution when it came to practice, hoping to keep players healthy, to me we seemed to have more injury's during his tenure.

They may not be seen as greats, but Nick Barnett and Antonio Freeman are up there with my favorite Packers players.

I'd throw Paul Coffman and William Henderson on that list though.

No offense to Ahman Green, but I think Jim Taylor was the best RB the Packers ever had. He was a very underrated receiver too.

No offense to Ahman Green, but I think Jim Taylor was the best RB the Packers ever had. He was a very underrated receiver too.

Cliff Christl says the old timers considered Clarke Hinkle the best Packer of his era, even ahead of his teammate Hutson. He built his reputation not just as a runner, but as a linebacker, too.

Yes indeed APB. One of my favorite Packers memorabilia pieces is a mini-helmet signed (so far) by Brett, Sterling and Robert Brooks. Probably should see if Edgar Bennett, Dorsey Levens, and Jackie Harris would sign it. Only so much room on a mini-helmet to accommodate signatures.

A Majik - Sharpe mini-helmet would be cool as well.

I think Mark Tauscher should be considered a very good player in the history of the Packers. Played a long time at a high level for his era, and has the Wisconsin tradition.
