YoHoChecko on the clock with the Mr. Irrelevant pick for 2023.
Somehow I managed to get through this whole draft without getting a tight end, which disappoints me somewhat, but overall I'm happy with the new class:
Bijan Robinson RB
Jayden Reed WR
Marvin Mims WR
Puka Nacua WR

Came away without one this year and have really struggled drafting diminutive WR's in recent years.

Oh man, what great 4th round picks, guys! 4 out of the past 5 picks would have been highly considered for Mr. Irrelevant.
They have longer careers with less turnover than RBs, cost less than QBs, and tight ends are always so much garbage beyond the first few. I shied away from a few littler WRs this draft - Zay Flowers being the pivotal decision for me. I knew he was most likely to end up at my 1.9 pick and I didn't want him after my experience with Rondale Moore perpetually on my bench or IR. That motivated me to try for a trade, which shaped the whole draft for me.
I was so close to taking Stetson Bennett - was hoping he might be there for the first round of waivers.YoHoChecko wrote: ↑26 Jun 2023 15:28Oh man, what great 4th round picks, guys! 4 out of the past 5 picks would have been highly considered for Mr. Irrelevant.

I got Quentin, and that’s all I care about.
Great draft fellas! On to the season! If anyone wants to trade, I have RB’s, future picks, TE, looking for QB upgrade or WR upgrade.

Honestly stoked with the combination of my draft haul and trade made during the draft. I'm in rebuild mode, so having a bunch of talented backups with fairly clear paths to playing time if things go right is excellent.
Hendon Hooker
Tank Bigsby
Chase Brown
Josh Downs
Stetson Bennett
+Brock Purdy -Aaron Rodgers
+ Christian Watson -Jerry Jeudy
But the downside of the strategy is that there's also a chance that in 3 years none of these guys have started more than a handful of games and remain backups.

I was between Hutchinson and Bennett. But I figured between both Texans receivers one of them might stick.mnkcarp wrote: ↑26 Jun 2023 15:32I was so close to taking Stetson Bennett - was hoping he might be there for the first round of waivers.YoHoChecko wrote: ↑26 Jun 2023 15:28Oh man, what great 4th round picks, guys! 4 out of the past 5 picks would have been highly considered for Mr. Irrelevant.
