What’s even more insane to me, and always was at the time, was they didn’t trade up for Tray Lance. They simply traded up to pick 3 like a month before the draft with no control over what QB’s they even could get. They just knew they were gunna take one. That is &%$@ crazy to me.

It's so weird watching preseason games for teams that choose veteran depth instead of youth at the back of their roster.
Watching the Colts in the second half of the final preseason game, and we got Gardner Minshew throwing to Breshad Perriman and Juwann Winfree while handing off the Kenyon Drake. I'm not supposed to recognize all of these names at this point.

100%. It was like "Draft Day." Trade away a ton for a top pick then figure out who you're going to take. He is on film showing half-assed effort on multiple occasions. Whatever elite physical traits he has, they're wasted in his effort.lake shark wrote: ↑25 Aug 2023 11:48That guy was one of the top defensive players in the draft at the time. Surprised they didn’t get more than a 7th.

It is nuts to me that Anthony Richardson finished the preseason game last night 6/17 for 78 yards and a sack with 5 carries for 38 yards and I have seen so many people (like real media folks) hype one great completion, one great throw that was dropped, and a 6-yard scramble on 3rd and 11 where he escaped a sack... in order to talk the kid up. The same 3 highlights from so many sources.

Favre was the richest investment. All three sat the bench (although Favre for only a handful of games). Just wild.

Dolphins gotta be just a little pissed they only got picks #29 twice; given what an epic bust Lance was.
I mean most other teams screw up QB like that, those are back to back top 10 picks.
Colts aren't ready as a team and a complete mess. Might as well throw him in there and build up the reps. Unless they get him killed. I imagine there are going to be a lot of designed runs for him come the regular season.YoHoChecko wrote: ↑25 Aug 2023 14:51It is nuts to me that Anthony Richardson finished the preseason game last night 6/17 for 78 yards and a sack with 5 carries for 38 yards and I have seen so many people (like real media folks) hype one great completion, one great throw that was dropped, and a 6-yard scramble on 3rd and 11 where he escaped a sack... in order to talk the kid up. RIP JustJeff
thing is Lance is still young, some team will pick him up for a song, back burner him, retrain him, highlight him in mop up duty and next years PS games and get a first on the trade market in 2025, I wouldn't be surprised

Favre sat a whole year in Atlanta, but I get why you didn't count it; he didn't learn anything there

Well they flipped those picks for Tyreek Hill and Bradley Chubb, so they may as well have been Top-10 picks for what they got in return.

Feel like I doubt you’ll find any first round qb who’s team completely gave up hope after 3 training camps ever succeeding.Yoop wrote: ↑25 Aug 2023 15:30thing is Lance is still young, some team will pick him up for a song, back burner him, retrain him, highlight him in mop up duty and next years PS games and get a first on the trade market in 2025, I wouldn't be surprised
I could be wrong, but I doubt you’ll find a single example.
If Jimmy Garrapolo can succeed in that qb friendly offense, Lance is absolute toast if he can’t win a backup spot.
