Wonder if the Packers were the counter party bidding for his services that forced MN to offer100K to get him as an UDRFA.

Seems weird that wouldn't be MN's responsibility, would have thought that was like a signing bonus, but I guess through a waiver claim, we are taking on all the contract. Just would have thought that was already paid I guess.
Well, the Vikings only gave Sims a $10K signing bonus while guaranteeing $100K of his base salary. If a team claims that player off waivers they're on the hook for the guaranteed portion of the base salary.

So what does that get him? 9 guaranteed weeks on the PS.
That's not how it works. If the Packers end up releasing Sims once again they will have to pay him $100K. They would have to pay him an extra $12K for each week spend on the practice squad on top of it.

Can I just be the first to say that I am low key livid that Chris Slayton is on our PS and Jonathon Ford is not.

Be glad that TJ looks good as a NT. And that Clark is a better option than bringing up Ford should TJ get hurt.

Save your livid for another day

The Green Bay Packers signed DL Jonathan Ford to the practice squad and released C James Empey (emp-ee) from the practice squad.

I can go into my weekend happy now

Though I put Empey in a mock draft a couple years ago so i liked having him around too. But I won’t look a gift horse in the mouth
