From Lambeau to Lombardi, Holmgren, McCarthy and LaFleur and from Starr to Favre, Rodgers and now Jordan Love we’re talking Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packers football. This Packers Forum is the place to talk NFL football and everything Packers. So, pull up a keyboard, make yourself at home and let’s talk some Packers football.
Are we talking Whelan or are we talking about a holder from 40 years ago, long since forgotten and as irrelevant as, say, Don Bracken, for example?
I mean, seriously.
We're talking #19 Whelan. I was mistaken earlier thinking Whelan wore #17.
Speak of the devil: Whelan has averaged exactly 49.8 yards per punt in both games, with net average of about 45.5. Easily top 10. Long of 68 yards. I think he also handled a bad snap well in both games.
The only blemish is two touchbacks, but no one can fully control bounces close to goal line.
Wasn’t called upon much but it was another perfect day for the rookie. I’ll take it.
Kid is playing well. I was surprised we didn't give him a shot to blast one after the delay of game penalty in ATL. 56 instead of 51? Kids got a huge leg give it a ride.
He's our new kicker. Quit arguing. Buy a jersey to show your total support and faith in the guy.
I’ll be damned if I ever buy a kickers jersey. I wouldn’t even accept that &%$@ as a gift
Not every kicker is a football player. Crosby was. But the way things are going, QB's no longer need to be football players either. Will you feel the same way when the rules favor protecting the QB even more than they do today?

Foot+ball=football. That makes kickers the football-iest footballers of all!

Brightest spot for the Packers so far this season is Anders. He's perfect in both field goal attempts and extra point attempts.
Quit arguing and Buy his jersey!
Can we at least wait until he kicks in some winter weather? Those jerseys are expensive, ya know.
A wise young go pak go decided to buy a #2 Crosby jersey in the winter of 2007 at the Jersey Store on Holmgren Way. This was at a time where getting various named jersey's was still a challenge.
Not a bad purchase. Was relevant for like 15 years.
Best to get your Carlson jersey while it's still pre All-Pro cheap. Don't want to get caught up the the post-success hysteria...
So far you are right and I am wrong about Carlson. Hopefully I will remain wrong. It's looking more and more likely that I will be, which is good. Although, like Love, if everything goes well then it will take a couple years before we know for sure.

I wanted to wait until the bye to give credit, because consistency was the issue with him, not single-day production.
It's still early and things could take a drastic turn, but yes, he has been very impressive. Drafting wizards in SanFran spent a 3rd on a PK who cost them the game against Cleveland. Obviously that is a bit of a cheap shot because over the span of a career, that is going to happen, and he could of course still end up being a much better player when it's all in the books. Point is, I am pleasantly surprised with our Crosby replacement thus far.
Also, kudos to Rich on getting him ready.
