To a point yes, but at the same time a team that has sucked at running the ball, but been good at pass blocking probably does want to err on the side of passing the ball. Yes, we probably needed to run at least once on that 2nd set of downs. At the same time when we went to run our 11th offensive play we were down 24-3. It got bad IN A HURRY.

Same guys we used against the Saints...
ya but those guys had different colored jersey's, jersey's matter :)

Their RB, Montgomery, was not running the ball that well (3.8 ypc). Yet as fans, it felt like they were running even better than that, because some of the 3.8 are very small gains, but others are 7 or 8 yard runs, and that helps them set up the pass.

In Dan Campbell's place, MLF would not have run half as much. He'd have thought, "meh, only 3.8 ypc, our run is bad, but we have Goff and St. Brown and other guys who catch, obviously we need to pass."

DET has done some fine team-building but GB is still a way more talented team. Switch the coaches around and GB wins bigger than DET did.

You are one to talk.

he has run and continued to run the ball when we only where getting 3.? ypc, your problem is it's happened so seldom you just can't remember, me either actually but it has happened, Lafleur is a run first coach, and you know it, so quit spouting these non sensical complaints.

Our RBs ran the ball 10 times yesterday. That is nothing.

we couldn't pass block last night, what makes anyone think run blocking would be easier, Lafleur quit trying to run because the run was stuffed.

we worried about interior blocking all off season because we where thin there, last night our worries came to fruition, we couldn't provide Love with time to throw, and Jones and our RB's rarely saw a crease.

never really got anything going, they went a little softer 2nd half and and Love completed some passes, but we where never a threat, I think I've been overly optimistic about this team.
Run blocking may not be easier, but many o-linemen love to run block. It allows them to attack and get the mojo going. Setting the tone through the run can have a positive impact on o-line morale and confidence.

Is Gutey good at his job? The cap has been mismanaged. You have an entire draft class in 2020 not playing well. 3 picks went into the Oline in 2022, 2021, and 2020 they have very little depth.

A ton of resources have gone into the defense, specifically into the front and LBs yet they get run over week after week. Our entire 2018 draft class was let walk except Alexander.

And we wonder why we don’t look competitive in these games.

discuss the real issue, run blocking guards, pass blocking guards, lack of G depth, you know, stuff that Guty has control of

they scored at will, 24-3 at half time and your upset because Lafleur didn't keep banging Dillon who went basically NO WHERE, most teams try and pass when forced to play catch up ball :thwap:

As much as this play sucked at the time. It's a long gain if not a TD if Deguara takes the CB to the sideline.

IMO the issues on D fall in the lap of MLF and Barry.

The Packers aren’t going to win very many games with their star players out. They’re too young and inexperienced.

The upside is that these young players will get some needed snaps and experience. Another is the Packers draft position will continue to improve. Let’s hope Gute drafts Defensive players that can tackle.
Love is the answer…

no way, that play was dead from the start, half the defenders flowed to stop it, Loves late pitch set Jones up for the hit he took, same with some of Loves passes that lead the receiver right into defenders.

same with all the interior passes, everyone complained because Rodgers shied away from them, Love is a pick machine doing it.

no pressure and LOve looks pretty good, with pressure Love struggles, throws into heavy traffic, and to often off target.

I completely agree with Aaron Nagler on the play below:
The first down throw to Doubs behind the line of scrimmage that lost them all that yardage absolutely killed them. They didn't execute, but I hated that play call given the position they were in having just gotten the ball back.

Andy Herman showed the result of one play where we had THREE OLinemen on their butts. Three! Butts to the grass.

Unless the Lions' D was on some kind of super-steroid, this shows a lack of motivation by these guys. Do they have no pride?

I know there were plays where our defensive front also got knocked down. We were manhandled on both sides. Can't play NFL football like this.

Jones has leverage on all but the CB and Deguara is in position to block the CB. Deguara misses. The play could have worked had Deguara not whiffed. The pitch is right when it needs to be as it sucks down the lead defender.
