What's Cooking !

Post by TheWolfman »

Cooking, weather it's just making toast or spending all day to create your masterpiece, is something many of us do. As I write this, the weather is transitioning into Winter. For me it is a time for Stews, Soups, Chili, and more. For others it's a time for casseroles, fruit pies, or baked meats. I like to use my slow cooking crock pot, while others are in a rush and use pressure cookers. Fried foods while tasty, yet are often unhealthy. Outdoor grilling is a year round reality in my world thanks to gas grills. Charcoal and slow smokers are great as well. My cold weather favorite is Beef Stew, slow cooked for not less than 12 hours. The delicious smell fills my home and the stew generally last me through a weekend. Hot beverages too are a part of the colder months and there are many to choose from. I don't eat deserts like I once did, but I still occasionally do break down and make a pie or a cake.

What's cooking at your home and would you please share it with your fellow members ?

Over the last week or so I made some nice turkish lamb shanks over mashed potatoes, and a spicy honey halibut, with a warm spiced delicata squash.

Wish I had taken pictures. Both pretty good.
