Offended by something again...!

This pisses you off?? Is a day not complete if you haven't been pissed off by at least 5 things?
Absolutely nothing wrong with asking. The vast majority of people buying season tickets have disposable income to donate...

Everyday the vibe feels different on whether the sec is going to be able to pull off the season or not. But as of today we have a schedule, camp has started, and Bama has less than 1% positivity rate for the team.
If they pull this off relatively smoothly, the big ten looks awful for losing the will to try. Big ten players don’t seem happy. The ones we have heard from at least.

Penn State AD just admitted there was no official conference vote to shut it down.Drj820 wrote: ↑18 Aug 2020 08:54Everyday the vibe feels different on whether the sec is going to be able to pull off the season or not. And now NC State and Notre Dame are likely to cancel all classes and close the dorms. Teaching most liberal arts over the internet, or even math is possible. But how do you teach chemistry or medicine or any subject that requires a lab over the internet? Never mind no football, no classes! Since most athletes are physical education majors, how do they attend such classes over the internet from mom and dad's basement?
Read More. Post Less.
Ridiculous they are not playing. Get them on the field, if some players want to opt out, let them. Overwhelming player/coach agreement to play.

Wow! They look like fools for giving up so early, but happy for the athletes, fans, and businesses that survive with a season!

That seems like an oddly high number. With the accuracy of testing continually questioned, I wonder how many of these have been confirmed through additional testing?

There were over 1000 cases on the UW campus within the first week of classes and positivity rate was over 20%. That 42 players and coaches tested positive is in no way odd.
Compared to Lacrosse that's also not a crazy positivity rate.

Whitewater is at about 17%. Oshkosh at 24%.
Big ten thought if they cancelled, other conferences would follow. When that didn't happen, they were screwed. I am glad Badger football is coming back though.

really, heck boys go to war, 18 to about 30 are practice years to becoming adult, imho these are rebellious years, who do we see now not practicing safe precautions concerning this virus, that age group.Drj820 wrote: ↑11 Aug 2020 19:57One thing that’s being forgotten is college “kids” are adults. Students on campus and players are all old enough to go to war. They aren’t high schoolers who are either going to be forced to go to a building by law, or forced to take courses at homes. Every student on campus has chosen to go on their own free will.
I wish they could just make it simple and let the athletes who don’t want to play...sit out and still keep their scholarship. The adults who do want to play should sign saying they won’t sue...and go play.
To me it’s not like they don’t want to, and someone is forcing them to play for money...i hear most of them want to play. So let them. And let the ones that don’t...sit out at no penalty.
Guess that makes too much sense.
the problem isn't as much the players, although they will carry the virus else where, as will the 1000's of fans, who are anyone going to keep themselves safe
I agree this is a kick in the nuts to college players, college revenue will take a hit, but so has Businesses closures, unemployed people, etc. this virus has affected everyone, college sports not excluded.
Notice how they don't say how many are actually ill? I heard as of yesterday that 1 (as in the whole number after zero) UW Madison student was hospitalized with COVID out of 3000+ positive tests. I hear same thing from my students... lots testing positive, who only got tested because of being near someone who tested positive.
Very few actually ill at all and only very minor for those not 100%. But some college football will be nice... App State vs Marshall doesn't quite do it.

My friend and his wife tested postive. Had to be quarantined for two weeks. Felt fine. He used the time to remodel his recently purchased hom.wallyuwl wrote: ↑19 Sep 2020 23:46Notice how they don't say how many are actually ill? They say you can't exercise for at least a month after testing positive. He thought that is garbage because he was asymptomatic. He did say however how shocked he was when went to life weights. He said it was like an elephant sat on his lungs.
It's definitely a weird illness for sure.
WTF Wally, you know damn well your posting this stuff in the wrong roomwallyuwl wrote: ↑19 Sep 2020 23:46Notice how they don't say how many are actually ill? Since this seems to be slipping into politics, which will never ever be allowed on the football forum, I'll just lock this thread up and y'all can continue this in the COVID-19 thread or create another about it at The Round Table: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=24
