2023 Dynasty League Discussion

Cheesy topics (like the Cheese Curds thread) go here. Topics that aren't Packer related will be moved here as well.

Mmmm.... cheese.

Okay, time for fantasy ninja moves. I tested the theory on Flacco and it worked. Took him out of my lineup and he went off.

Now, if I sit Monty tonight I know he will go off. But if Monty goes off, it means maybe Jamyr's night is just so-so, which is what I'm really hoping happens...

This sucked so much for you, having to settle for only 40 points from Lamb.

48 would have been a lot cooler, and looking needed with everyone quite quiet so far.

Yeah we've seen no-name QB careers made by games against Joe's D.

I figured Chase was getting ejected just then...

Can't decide whether to play Jayden Reed or Ty Chandler tonight. Would rather cheer on the Packer, but again... Packer D.

I'm blowing everyone away in a redraft money league this week - like 40 points better than the next guy. Of course I was eliminated last week.

At least I won my other 2 redraft leagues...

Yeah how about that Jayden Reed guy? Pretty ecstatic with him. If his body can hold up, he could be great. Like a quicker Greg Jennings.

Thanks, by the way. Your team at full strength will be a beast next season.

First start for Reed in my redraft and didn't need him. He had a night!

In my 3 pay leagues I am up $460 including this one and I consider this a wash!

Congrats mnkcarp

I think I won like $600 in the one league I won, which more than pays for the 4 I lost (my only last place finish was here and while I put forth an excellent coaching season--3rd best % of optimum points--the terrible team was somewhat by design; can't wait to draft Caleb Williams!)

Still have to figure out what to do at RB, though.

I have some well established RB question marks that could be question marks on your team for the right price.

Must have been a pretty down year for RBs. Just looking at my own ranks.

Gibbs was 8, James Cooks was 11, Brian Robinson was 21. He was steady like 10-15 most the year before getting hurt.

Just don’t think those guys scare anyone or are very coveted. Hard to believe only a few were better.

Ceedee finished WR1 and AJ Brown 4.

Rashee Rice (who I traded up for) became an every week starter by end of year finished 21 and Garrett Wilson was 23. Hoping for a lot from Wilson yet if they can ever settle QB a little.

Made a big trade for Hockenson, he was TE1 before going on IR, finished TE3 and Dalton Kincaid was decent at TE12 as a rookie.

Also made a huge trade for Herbert, who immediately sucked and went on IR like 3 weeks after. But with Kirk and Aaron on team (both also on IR), needed a younger option there to go with Tua.

Really like where my team is now, young and talented starters at nearly every starting spot right now and still pretty flush with picks. Certainly looking like it was a horrible decision to trade Brock Purdy away, but I still also don’t have a ton of confidence in him long term. But I am often wrong.

My roster feels a lot like the Packers' honestly.

I've got a young core that can grow together. It works best when the inconsistent, talented WRs are clicking (Watson and Pickens), but behind the one good RB (Connor in this case, Jones for the Packers), there's no impact player at the position and the whole team struggles. The TEs are talented and productive when healthy but WHEN HEALTHY has not been often. And the defense is incredibly talent rich but horrifically underperforming. I didn't even bother trying to upgrade my kicking game because it's a rebuilding year. But the future could be bright.

If I go forward with Hurts, Purdy, and Caleb Williams manning the QB position (and maybe Hendon Hooker steps in)
If Pickens gets a QB and/or Watson stays healthy and both gain consistency.
If one of my young reserve RBs gets a starting opportunity due to injury or attrition... or if I hit on one in the mid-rounds

Things could really look nice, especially if Kirk can regain a target monster vibe and Josh Downs develops into the steady possession slot I envision for him.

I still need a RB, TE, and just in general better depth. But I can see a worst to first (place in the bad division) situation occur in a matter of 1-2 years here. Better if I get lucky here and there.

One thing's for sure as I move into the next phase: I am VERY glad to have Purdy and Watson instead of Rodgers and Jeudy.

That was a bad trade when it happened, but I get why 004 went for it. That trade is terrible in hindsight. I was never a big Jeudy fan, though.

It definitely made sense for a sellhigh on Purdy coming off an elbow injury and for a win-now move, as Jeudy was in a good position and Watson still needed to grow, and of course Rodgers was expected to go scorched earth for a year or two.

I get it. I can see the logic. But I'm overjoyed to have been on the other end of it.

Of course, my team also had 3-4 fewer wins than the second-worst team last year, so it's not like it was a franchise altering get (yet)
