The Titans just hired a new GM last January, so maybe this isn't that big of a surprise

I actually like the consultant idea a lot for a few reasons. For one, I think Vrabel will continue to be a hot name in the hiring circles, so I'd hate to implement a system only to lose the coordinator after one season. Two, I just think as involved as LaFleur is on offense, it wouldn't be a bad idea to have multiple voices and ideas on that side of the ball... a quasi-HC-Defense.

I have to think that Vrabel would be first in line for HC already this year. Someplace.

yeah Vrabel isn't slumming it as a consultant right now. He'll be another team's HC in a month.Scott4Pack wrote: ↑09 Jan 2024 19:16I have to think that Vrabel would be first in line for HC already this year. Someplace.
I bet his firing heats things up in New England.
That was my first thought. He’d be the perfect succession candidate.YoHoChecko wrote: ↑09 Jan 2024 19:27yeah Vrabel isn't slumming it as a consultant right now. I can’t wait to find out who this don’t-wanna-miss-out candidate is….
My guess is little Amy wanted to wear the pants in the relationship, and Vrable wasn’t willing to take his pants off and wear the skirt.

No way he has to sit out a cycle or two before he’s a HC again. He’s a top 3 candidate immediately and there are already 5 other jobs minimum.NCF wrote: ↑09 Jan 2024 15:28I actually like the consultant idea a lot for a few reasons. Maybe not, but sometimes these top candidates are smart enough to not accept crap jobs and afford to be a little more choosey.

Yeah I think Eberflus has been fine with his side of the ball and has player support.
They definitely need to get their OC hire right though, much like we do at DC.
As an aside, I do not want Luke Getsy back. We didn't develop anyone at QB in his first stint, Love didn't improve much under him when he came back, he got *a little* improvement out of Justin Fields late this season but it has been far below the talent he has and had shown at OSU. So what exactly is his strength as a coach? No thanks, keep Tom Clements for a few more years if he's willing, then get a new set of eyes.
