Just feeling saucy about this one. We have your deebo (reed and doubs combined in one), Kittle (Musgrave), Juzczcyk (Kraft), your McCaffrey (Jones), Aiyuk (Wicks), plus we got a Watson and a Melton and a much much better QB. Our guys are just unknown, unrecognized, and hungry.
Packers come back from 10 down in the 2nd half at one point, keyed by a big turnover or 4th down stop, Packers pull it out, 38-34. Packers get a TD drive with about 30 seconds left, D holds.

Hot dang, tickets are down to $165 ish/seat now. I guess people don't want to sit in the rain. California rainy season rain isn't that bad - it's like a prolonged drizzle.

Palmy - "Very few have the ability to truly excel regardless of system. For many the system is the difference between being just a guy or an NFL starter. Fact is, everyone is talented at this level."
I don't know if those conditions are favorable or not.
Purdy doesn't have a great arm so he may have trouble with that wind. He's also got relatively small hands so that may turn into an issue. Conversely, CMC and Deebo may gain an advantage with sloppy conditions. Those dudes are tough to bring down in good conditions. They may go full Pittsburgh on Barry's ass.
I guess we'll see how Love does in the rain. I can't say I recall a game where he played in it this year. Hopefully our boys can maintain footing on their routes and get some big plays on their secondary.

Bill,
I won’t copy your whole post (which copies my post). It’ll be too long. But in reply,
Yes, if it’s tight in the 4th, I actually think the edge goes to GB too. Niners have the star power, for sure. And if that doesn’t translate into lots of points, that’ll indicate taht something bad is wrong for them.
GB will want to throw downfield. (so does SF) If Niners find a INT along the way, that’ll also go along way for their cause. But it seems like Love is very patient and he will be willing to dink and dunk if the patterns downfield aren’t open. Maybe Purdy will be the same.
But I tell you what. I’d be shocked if a HOT team gets routed in the playoffs. And GB is HOT right now. Maybe there will be a rout, as they are truly inexperienced. But I like momentum a lot. And GB has it.

Guys and Girls,
I would just like to point out that tomorrow is National Cheese Lover's Day. Are the stars aligning?

We still think we CAN win!lake shark wrote: ↑19 Jan 2024 11:09Let’s be real. 49ers are the healthier, more experienced team and are playing at home. They are hungry because they believe they lost the SB last year due to Purdy’s injury. They will not lay an egg like Dallas. LaFluer has struggled mightily against them in the past. Sure the Pack could win. The discrepancy is not Miracle on Ice level but it’s going to take an effort like the Thanksgiving game against Detroit, a very similar team to SF, to beat them. Looking forward to seeing what they can do. Go Pack! Thought about going in person but tickets are $300 for nosebleeds.
I heard somebody say that once.

Rain is Purdy’s kryptonite. 4 ints last time he played in the rain.
Love is the answer…
I wasn't real confident about last week. Dallas had been so good at home. I am confident about this week. The rainy and windy weather will give Purdy problems (not a great arm, small hands). SF skill players and rushers rely more on quick feet and leverage, which a wet field neutralizes a bit. Also, I have heard a lot of talk from SF coaches/players implying Love is a system QB. They are in for a big surprise. There is also that most SF starters have not played in 3 weeks.

Look at what Favre did in the NFCCG (1997 season). The rain and slop didn't matter to Antonio Freeman.

Don’t put all your hope for a win on the weather conditions. Rain….Purdy’s small hands and weak arm…. These are the playoffs, everyone is jacked up to the next level. It’s going to be a great game… a close game.
Packers 27 Niners 24.

Remember the 2011 Packers?
That team is this year's 49'ers. Hope it turns out the same way
