Great career here and I loved his personality. The man was hilarious and embodied the number 69.
With that this is the right move and I thought the surest of vets. Can’t pay a guy when he just can’t return from the same injury.

Cancelled by the forum elites.
Happy trails to him. The epitome of a boom-or-bust FA signing for his suitors: could either get high-end LT play out of him, or nothing at all due to the leg.

Win the SB in 2020 season without the injury. This happened a year too late, though.

Best "good-bye post" ever! He has the social media thing down pat. Wish him nothing but the best.
Geesh I keep forgetting that Airenhead Rodgers is now there pseudo GM and has full hiring capabilities
He'll bring in Bakhtiari leg or no leg, probably give him a bran new golf cart so he doesn't stress that knee
Nick Collins and David Bakhtiari. Both names should be in the Ring of Honor of the Lambeau facade.
Just sucks. Sucks. Sucks. Sucks.
He was such a good football player. Such a fun football player.

Just adding to the praise. Loved that guy. Damn shame how it had to end here.
I'm sure I'll never find it, but once upon a time (during that draft season) I commented that I thought he'd be our center of the future (still didn't have him in my final mock). Never thought he'd end up one of the best LT's of his time.

Sad, but it had to be done

Now that we aren’t paying him anymore…I wish him absolutely nothing but the best!!

hard to see a star coming, those we think are can't miss players, bust, and those we see as marginal or long shots go to canton, I think over the many years I'am bating lower digitspaco wrote: ↑11 Mar 2024 13:15Just adding to the praise. Loved that guy. Damn shame how it had to end here.

but I think I was the first guy in this forum to fall in love with Mathews months before that draft and I really have to give credit for that to Gil Brandt
What a shame for us and him. When healthy is one of the top LTs in football. Was he released with an injury settlement?

I'm completely ignorant of the injury settlement rules, but I'd have to think that, since he's seriously looking to play again, it didn't come into play here.
Never liked the part time comedian, but on a personal level, I do hope Rodgers gets the Jets to pay him a ton of money. Hope he gets as much money from another team as possible.
