Yep, erase off the draft board bad.

Anyone think Ennis Rakestraw Jr. can play the other Safety spot for us?

wow that would seem to effectively take Nubin off our board?
I have been thinking that Cole Bishop is a guy who could surprise by going early Day 2, with how well he tested and the fact he has a decent body-of-work from college.
Now with Nubin absolutely faceplanting in his athletic tests, Bishop might honestly be S #1 for me.

The answer is Julian blackmon. Don't waste a pick on these bums in the top 100. And bring back Rudy.
Ford and Johnson for depth and we are fine

I think what you say might be how Guty is thinking. Otherwise, why wouldn't he have already sealed an offer with even a secondary Safety that is out there? Even Hyde or Simmonds, as old as they are, would be good guys on a one year deal with a stellar Safety beside them.Backthepack4ever wrote: ↑20 Mar 2024 15:23The answer is Julian blackmon. Guty is probably waiting til the draft for those guys, thinking it's worthwhile to see what we draft. Cuz those guys will still be there.

I wasn't advocating for the Packers to draft Barton at 25. But, my point was that if they consider him or any other prospect for that matter a possible future HOFer, they won't have him graded as a mid-second round pick.TheSkeptic wrote: ↑18 Mar 2024 08:21Why wouldn't Barton be available in the 2nd round? His grade is 6.46 which equates to the lower half of the 2nd round or the upper half of the 3rd.
If he goes before then, so be it, there will be other similar players. Don't reach at 25 or 41.
In the 20's there will likely be Cooper DeJean, Kool-Aid McKinstry, Terrion Arnold and Quinyon Mitchell, all cornerbacks. And Tyler Nubin at Safety. A sane GM takes Nubin and most of those CB's over Baron every day and twice on Sunday.
At 41, Edgerrin Cooper or Payton Wilson at ILB and there are more CB's and Safeties who might be good picks at 41.Wilson ran a 4.44 as a 230 pound ILB. Cooper might be a reach but look at his 10 yard split.
If the Packers can find a starter at CB/Slot and a 2nd safety and another starting ILB, they have a legitimate chance of winning the SB. This Season! This is no time to be drafting prospects on the Oline in the first 2 rounds.
If you are going to reach in the draft, at least reach for a player who will contribute as a rookie even if it is only on ST. Barton won't.
Aaron Taylor in 1994.
He is. I didn't realize that. Probably not wise of him to test.

Meniscus, 3 months out from surgery. Still shouldn't have ran everything that poorly.

Best mock draft sim out there now.
Basically PFF but for free, includes RAS so it’s even better.

draft boards, mocks and top 100 list are all over the place, one will have several DT's rated top 20, another will have the same two as mid 2nd roundersBF004 wrote: ↑21 Mar 2024 16:54Best mock draft sim out there now.

one says only Dejean has a 1st round safety grade (top 20), another has 3 safety's in the top 40, I saw another with 7 edge rusher in round one, another has 9 OL in round one.
really hard to get a feel for who is a real deal player or just a workout phony, just look at some of these really low workout numbers and you know the guys film will tell a different story, Nubins has been the top safety in this class, his poor numbers don't align with his game film, I bet he's still the first one off the board on draft day, jmo.
Alfano was a top ranked recruit back in 2019 (#5 overall by 247Sports, Rivals and USA Today) and ended up with Alabama. He never played a game for the Crimson Tide and entered the transfer portal in November that year with Saban saying he basically quit. He was recruited by Colorado but ended up not appearing in any games for them as well.
It seems he was rostered on two junior college teams since, with the only playing time I was able to find coming with Lackawanna College last year.
While he was definitely a talented player in high school it seems he has some off the field issues, which might result in him not being added to an NFL roster.
Here's a list of confirmed Top-30 visits with the Packers before the draft (I will try to keep it updated):
LB Edgerrin Copper, Texas A&M
DL Michael Hall, Ohio State
OL Zak Zinter, Michigan

That's good info right there...CWIMM wrote: ↑22 Mar 2024 02:24Alfano was a top ranked recruit back in 2019 (#5 overall by 247Sports, Rivals and USA Today) and ended up with Alabama.
