Herm said we are trading back to slot 32 and drafting that T/G Morgan, taking Cooper at slot 41, Hicks at #58, don't argue with the super blogger
actually think I'd be happy with those picks, ohh forgot, we also picked up another 2nd rounder in the trade

Jim Nagy (Senior Bowl exec) is on Twitter right now raving about how underrated Elijah Jones is
He did Brandon Coleman yesterday or the day before. We're on the same page.

Elijah Jones was probably my #1 target Round 5 or later. I think he is rising though.YoHoChecko wrote: ↑23 Apr 2024 15:19Jim Nagy (Senior Bowl exec) is on Twitter right now raving about how underrated Elijah Jones is

So I think there are some guys who can be nickel OR safety. And we need nickel and safety. And it might really, longer-term, maximize our defense if we got two guys, so we have McKinney at FS and then two guys on the field who can interchangably swap between nickel and the other safety... seems maybe awesome?
So like Rd 1: Cooper Dejean
Rd 2: Javon Bullard
Rd 3: Taylor-Demerson
Rd 4: Tykee Smith
We have 6 picks in those 4 rounds. Get two of those guys, and I'd be a very happy YoHo.
I'm sure there are other names in consideration for that role, as well. Those were just the ones that came to mind immediately
Like:
25: DeJean
41: Junior Colson
58: Max Melton
88: Brandon Coleman
91: Tanor Bordolini
126: Tykee Smith
Flawless. Hit RB in the 5th or 6th (Tracy, Guerrendo, Watson, etc). Grab one of those LBs I like (Magee or Ulofoshio or Knight). Call it a day. Maybe throw in a developmental tackle with the last pick like Tylan Grable if you want.
EDIT: Wait sorry, I want Javon Bullard so much more than I realized (I had avoided it because of all the high UGA picks and not wanting to be a homer but DANG he's a good fit for what I want for us. UGH I can never sleep this close to the draft.

Holy crap, you guys. Cooper Dejean is Minkah Fitzpatrick.
Highly instinctive big physical college corner who was moved around the scheme a lot and whose best pro position may be free safety and LOOK AT THE MEASURABLES
(I used NFL draft scout times for both players. Since Cooper was a pro day, exact times vary. I notice the times Brugler has in The Beast are slightly different (4.44/1.53))

Been looking at some youtube video tonight. Decided to look at some of the top RB's mentioned. It sounds like most RB's will be drafted 3rd round and down. The one guy I really liked as far as just eye test was Blake Watson. I saw him mentioned here a couple times. Would seem like a really nice player to have if used right. Would love to seem him getting 6-10 carries and then also a part of the passing game. To me he just looks the part of a explosive football player who makes good plays. Keeping his college competition in mind, he still looks like a gifted runner to me. Changed position from WR to RB and clearly has a skill set for both. I would think MLF would love this. Should be available later rounds.

An the more I watch of Gabriel Murphy (edge UCLA) the more I hope GB lands him.
His only flaw is he's short armed and a little undersized but damn he gets after it. First step to power is impressive. Gets off blocks nicely. Shows some moves though he could get better with his hands
Fun player

Seems the likelyhood of a top 6 QB falling out of the 1st is between Nix and Penix. But most boards I've seen have them ranked about the same. What's causing one to fall over the other? It can't be age, as both are older (only about 2 months apart).

I think I want
- 4 DBs
- 3 OL
- 2 LBs
- 1 RB
- 1 misc. (edge? TE? specialist??)
That feels very reasonable but highly unrealistic. Our positional needs are not going to align so exactly with our actual picks.

I want 3 each for DB, OL, & LB/EDGE and 2 Offensive Skill guys. I would expect we skip over QB and specialists and I will leave the door open for the right DL prospect. I lumped LB and EDGE because I want to double-dip at one or the other (or potentially both), but wanted to leave room for numbers at other spots.YoHoChecko wrote: ↑24 Apr 2024 10:53I think I want

2 LB
2 DBs
1 RB
1 1 tech or edge (not 3tech)
1 QB
1 WR or TE
I think a lot of other GM's just like Guty either use a first on a position of need, on a player with near plug and play ability, or if that player isn't available, they look for the BPA in respect to highest ceiling, or they trade back and add a pick or two.
I need to prefix that prior to this opinion, I think Guyton is that player in this draft, his ceiling is in the clouds, I'am starting to think he's the real jumper this Thursday, may start at RT and a year later be one of the best LT's in the league.
I've seen him ranked all over a month ago, lately late first round, even wanted to draft him, now starting to think he's gone in the teens.

I think the only thing that will ruin my draft night on Thursday will be Eliot Wolf allowing the Vikings to draft Drake Maye. Just don’t let that happen and I’m good.

actually think thats a done deal now, NE has a ton of holes, and need a few more 2nd rounders to fill them, plus they will still be in good spot to take McCarthy, Nix or Penix at what slot 11?????
I've always felt that a team plays up or down to the talent in there own division, having to go against a improved Vikes Detroit and Chicago should make us a better team come the play offs, jmo.
lol. MN's 1st round center sucks.
Ideal haul is a safety, nickel, outside corner, RG (even better if they can play C), OT, LB, RB... and then you can draft for depth/competition.

So he is saying guys like AJ Brown, Minkah Fitzpatrick, Roquan Smith and Khalil Mack are misses because because they didn't resign with their original team? And then us resigning Nick Perry for pennies his 5th year was a hit? I guess it might balance out, but probably gotta design that study better.
