(I love speed but you gotta get me speed and skill; I'll take a good player in the 4.35 range ahead of a guy who runs a 4.25 any day)
I dont care about "history"-nonsense, I just need the one that *I* pick to be worth it. CJ2K is all the proof needed. He was worth it, but it required TEN to have foresight and wisdom to make that pick, not backwards-looking conventional wisdoms.YoHoChecko wrote: ↑25 Apr 2024 15:40Labrev wrote: ↑25 Apr 2024 14:29Apples and Oranges. The interest in Worthy (to me, at least) is not about getting a guy to catch passes, it is about his Superpower: game-breaking speed from an O player, and utilizing it to score TDs.
It would make no difference to me if he had that ability while listed as a RB, even TE.
Said Superpower will be utilized yes in part by having him catch passes but that's only the tip of the iceberg, you also to manufacture touches in other ways: handoffs, kick returns, punt returns. So he is not a WR. He is WR/RB/KR/PR (or ATH, or WPN).
Needless to say, what I am describing and envisioning is *not* Xavier Legette; him being a better WR is wide of the point.
YEAH! Just LOOK at all these difference-makers who tilted the field with their speedy superpowers!

basically the skill set player that could provide that imho will be long gone, besides Reed is as close to that guy as we could possibly get minus a trade up, Worthy from what I can tell might be there, I think I like McConkey more, weird rankings this year as one mock has both go prior to us others later,, again would Guty make a move for them or ones of the CB's? who could say.Waldo wrote: ↑25 Apr 2024 15:39Eh, depends if he brings something to the table the current guys lack. I think they would do well with an electric slot guy to make hay out of the bunch formations and end arounds. Jones' x factor is going to be missed, it doesn't have to be replaced with a RB though.Yoop wrote: ↑25 Apr 2024 15:30YoHoChecko wrote: ↑25 Apr 2024 14:19I do not want nor do I think we need an additional WR--but absolutely if a guy we LOVE falls to 41, go ahead with it. Legette or a character gamble on AD Mitchell would make plenty of sense; for a star that we think would be a Dude. No reason to take a body anytime later. I don't want competition for Melton and Wicks at the bottom (beyond what we already have). I only want a WR if it's someone who makes Christian Watson's injuries not matter so much (size speed freak with legit top dawg upside)
same here, WR borders on a wasted pick for me, whomever would have to be elite to break into this groups snap count, more or less it would hinder the progress of the bunch we have now.
I know we love the versatility of a player like OL Barton or the CB/S Dejean, both are said to be plug and play ready, and both fill a position of need.
Whatever, hope you enjoy the draft, miss your posting
If we jumped and took every speedy receiver or RB we'd miss on all the steady eddie starters and have a bench full of real fast gator aid fetchersLabrev wrote: ↑25 Apr 2024 16:21I dont care about "history"-nonsense, I just need the one that *I* pick to be worth it. We are not talking about some Olympic sprinter who has never played 'ball, we are talking about a guy who has played several years at a major college football program *AND* been productive, lol. This is not some developmental uber-project who needs to learn 101 stuff.
His pro-comp is Hollywood Brown, not some rando from 1999.
Where is Brown on that list, anyway? Tyreek Hill?? Interesting omissions. 'List is a clear case of FAKE NEWS.

Marquise Brown has been pretty average during his 5 years in the NFL.
Palmy - "Very few have the ability to truly excel regardless of system. For many the system is the difference between being just a guy or an NFL starter. Fact is, everyone is talented at this level."
Well, apparently Andy Reid likes him( Worthy). Damn!!! I bet chiefs fans are excited thinking about Mahome's newest toy. Cheetah #2 ???
WR was definitely a need there in KC. Probably will be alot of fun watching them 2 if your team isn't playing them.

'Told you he was a Round 1 lock.

One of which two, the two Xaviers? I think that was someone else, in the other thread.

yes you did, but isn't it obvious to you why most of us didn't feel he is worth that, what is the first thing that comes to mind concerning a 165 lb WR,that runs real fast, getting a clean release so that speed can be a advantage, that to me is a major draw back, he better have some quality footwork or he'll be stymied at the LOS, wont arrive on schedule to pitch points, to me that is a major flag.
Andy and the KC coaches have some work to do.

Miscellaneous spot filled with a QB. Otherwise nailed the numbers exactly.YoHoChecko wrote: ↑24 Apr 2024 10:53I think I want
- 4 DBs
- 3 OL
- 2 LBs
- 1 RB
- 1 misc. (edge? TE? specialist??)
That feels very reasonable but highly unrealistic. Our positional needs are not going to align so exactly with our actual picks.

Interesting if un-useful analysis
Cooper's got a lot of Nick Barnett in his game, so I love #56 for him!

Interesting post-draft follow-up info coming out.
The Broncos are reportedly the only team who evaluated Nix as a R1 talent. Their scouting staff, and particularly Sean Payton, will be judged accordingly.
