Wasn't he around that 3.0 to 3.5 seconds or so last year?

We 100% played prevent on their last drive of the 1st half and the ENTIRE 4th quarter. It was a poor prevent at that.

did MN like run it on every 2 pt conversion? Did we have an answer for them at all?

Why wouldn't they? We were missing Kenny Clark. I would expect any team that lost their #1 defender to be attacked there.

To fix things, Rodgers apparently decided to start changing the plays that McCarthy was calling on the field, which happened nearly one-third of the time.

we all read this bleacher report stuff a year or so ago, maybe you forgot, but it details the no love lost relationship between Rodgers and McCarthy, most blamed Rodgers, but even though I liked McCarthy, imho he was the problem all along, he would not change very much and ultimately was fired because of it.

Or back further, to the NFC Championship Game on Jan. 18, 2015, when McCarthy coached with the ferocity of a sloth, calling for field goals from the 1-yard line twice in the first half and then running three straight times with five minutes left to infuriate his QB and effectively euthanize a Super Bowl season?

the whole article points out Rodgers frustration with McCarthy, sure of course I think it's somewhat hyped to sell ink, but not all of it, who among us doesn't feel that we should have gotten a couple more LOmbardi's, we blame Rodgers for to much audible and changing plays, but thats what frustration leads to.

either way, these articles point out that Rodgers did want change of schemes from McCarthy and never really got much of anything different for years and years, even after the decline of his once splendid receiver corp, McCarthy remained near status quo.

This article is a perfect example of a red herring. It really has little barring on the current conversation. No one argued that Rodgers didn't want a new scheme.

I think it is pretty obvious that its always been system for 8 years that relied on receivers being open where Rodgers needs them who can't help but be flustered behind an Oline who allows pressures which needs a better system to rely on the run game more which how can you expect his stats to be good when we run so much that needs TT and Gute needs to put a priortiy on WR talent in the draft earlier because everybody could see the decline in talent coming to even though we had the talent and players how could you expec tthem to play while being injured and it's a rhythm thing that even if you're playing you still won't be where you need to be because they're injured and we have no talent and the scheme takes adjustments and time which is so obvious why we are now seeing the talent and Rodgers always has played the same.

I don't know what you're missing here BF.

Well that was fun! Can't ask for much more than that for the first game. Division game, on the road and we, by all accounts, spanked them!

I'm sure you guys covered just about everything, but a few points I made during the game...

Rodgers and Adams = Wow. Vintage stuff. HOF caliber stuff. Awesome to see week 1.
Jaire with 2 huge plays. Yes, the defense gave up too much, but those were killers.
Loving the Deguara pick. Dude is already coming to play big time.
John Runyan - told ya. Didn't think it would be this early, but he played very well in relief.
I want to see more AJ Dillon. But love the 4 headed attack. Sorry fantasy owners.
MVS is going be frustrating as hell this year. But he's going to give us enough. Lazard too.
Defense stepped up where they had to with stops. Just need to adjust to give up less big plays and ALL GAS NO F'IN BRAKE goes for the D too. Prevent D = Prevent a win.
Injuries were tough today. Feel horrible especially for Lane Taylor. But we really need Kenny Clark to be ok.
Krys Barnes, who woulda thunk it? Guy was solid.
Savage had a rough game.
Time of possession was a thing of beauty! When was the last time we saw something like that? Feels like forever.

I'm a Lovett fan and was glad they brought him back to PS and even happier they activated him on Sunday. MLF had the opportunity to get everybody involved, Sunday great launch to the season. Deguarra got 24 snaps and looked solid in run/pass

my take has not changed, the point of this discussion was that Rodgers wanted 3 or more years ago for McCarthy to change the schemes, hense my comment that Rodgers did Sunday what he probably would have liked to have been doing the last 3 seasons, since then it's been a tit for tat discussion, so I brought the evidence.

Yeah vitale seemed to want to do all the stuff that are bonus for FB/TEs to do...but not stuff you actually pay them to do...like pancake people and make crucial blocks. He opted out of the season in NE. Glad we moved on.
