Cheesy topics (like the Cheese Curds thread) go here. Topics that aren't Packer related will be moved here as well.

Mmmm.... cheese.

Tonight's first pour. First time with this one. Nice easy drinker. enough going on to be interesting. Cheap enough to not have to worry about digging deep into it.

Here's the whisky lottery near me. I can choose 5 to put on the list and if called, will have a chance to buy 1 of them. I'm hoping stuff is msrp, but I have no idea.

Smart move would be the Pappy and BTAC stuff, then sell it and make some money.

Had a couple Coors Banquet beers in the bottle. First in probably 40 years. Tasted great still!

Found a new drink in Charleston recently. GINGERHAMMER! Better than a margarita and equally tasty as a Bullitt Rye muddled Old Fashioned. For the Gingerhammer, you need ginger syrup and reposado tequila + citrus juice, and maybe a splash of carbonated soda. Awesome!

Crown Royal came out with a Blackberry flavor whiskey. Mix 1.5 oz with 4-5 oz of lemonade, add a twisted lemon wedge, and you'll thank me.

You can also substitute ginger ale for the lemonade and be equally satisfied.

Good back deck summer time drink.

This part year I've discovered I really like drinking cocktails. On top of that, I don't really feel like ass from doing so, unlike when drinking beer/wine. Last few years I didn't think I liked drinking because I felt so awful after just a little beer/wine. I mean sure there's hangovers from way too much, but 2 hrs after a couple cocktails I don't have raging gutrot and a headache like beer would cause.

I discovered I'm a huge fan of Tiki. That palette really works for me.

Right now I'm drinking a more complex variation of the Capt'n Moscow Mule earlier in the thread. Its something I came up with for bringing to the neighborhood pool on hot days.

Pt 1, Rum Barrel:
1 oz dark jamaican rum
3/4 oz rhum agricole
3/4 oz overproof jamaican rum
1/4 oz St Elizabeth Allspice Dram
1/2 JD Velvet Falernum
3/4 oz fresh squeezed lime
3/4 oz fresh squeezed grapefruit
1/2 oz demara syrup
couple dashes angostura bitters

pt 2, ginger beer

pt 3, pebble ice

fill the cup with pt 3, pebble ice, fill about halfway with the pt 1 rum barrel cocktail, and top off with pt 2, ginger beer.

The rum barrel is a fairly potent cocktail, often add a liqueur like a chartreuse knockoff (alpine liqueur) or orange, apricot, or pineapple liqueur or amaro nonino (a spiced orange flavor) to it as well. The ginger beer has the flavor intensity to compliment and hang with the rum barrel, while tempering the drink so you don't get instantly hammered, heavy on the ginger beer and it isn't any more potent than an ale, but oh so good in the sun. Light on the ginger beer and you'll get trashed fast (it is a very tasty cocktail on its own without the ginger beer). I batch the rum barrels like 4x for bringing to the pool for the day (do the final ice+ginger beer mix on site).
