Carpenter and Iman
Isn’t that John Anderson?
Funny, he’s not listed as wearing number 59 on the all-time roster number list but I know he wore it. Unless, of course, I’ve caught a case of turning old.

Wayne Simmons I think, toss up between the two for best player to wear number 59, with Anderson getting the nod because he played for us longer,APB wrote: ↑09 Jul 2024 15:31Isn’t that John Anderson?

59 John Anderson, LB, Michigan: This was the toughest choice and if you tell me I’m wrong, I won’t argue. Anderson, because of his longevity (11 years) and 21 interceptions, got the ever so slight nod over Wayne Simmons.

You are correct, he wore #59: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/ ... deJo20.htmAPB wrote: ↑09 Jul 2024 15:31Isn’t that John Anderson?

Palmy - "Very few have the ability to truly excel regardless of system. For many the system is the difference between being just a guy or an NFL starter. Fact is, everyone is talented at this level."
I see he wore #60 his rookie year then changed to #59 the rest of his years. I don't have any recollection of him donning the 60 jersey. Like, at all.Pckfn23 wrote: ↑09 Jul 2024 16:41You are correct, he wore #59: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/ ... deJo20.htmAPB wrote: ↑09 Jul 2024 15:31Isn’t that John Anderson?

Great player. His multiple broken forearms (and leg if I recall?) were as big an issue back in the day as CM3's hamstrings were in his day...and then some. Dude always had something broken, it seemed.
Anderson definitely gets the nod for me. Guy made the 1980s all-decade team, I believe. Dude could play both run and pass very well.Yoop wrote: ↑09 Jul 2024 16:35Wayne Simmons I think, toss up between the two for best player to wear number 59, with Anderson getting the nod because he played for us longer,APB wrote: ↑09 Jul 2024 15:31Isn’t that John Anderson?

HOFer Johnny Blood McNally wore #55 somewhere along the way
