In five years, nobody makes under seven figures. Now, it's still nearly $800K. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/cba/minimum/lupedafiasco wrote: ↑06 Sep 2024 11:42Not a lot of money my ass. Especially now. Theyve got their NIL money, their degree, and make hundreds of thousands a year. No sympathy from me. Pick a different profession then.wallyuwl wrote: ↑06 Sep 2024 10:50The thing is, it is the low paid players with usually short careers that play on the ST units. So they are risking their health for not a lot of money. I think the new rules are fine, except there needs to be something done so the average starting point for the offense isn't the 30-32 on returns. Maybe just move where the players are lined up another 5 yards toward the endzone.lupedafiasco wrote: ↑06 Sep 2024 10:45
That was the initial rule wasnt it? Then they changed it to the 30 because the 35 made it too easy to score.
I think all this &%$@ is dumb. The league needs to accept this is a physical and violent sport and the players are paid handsomely for it. They neutered kickoffs to where its unbearable to watch. Its been prime beer and !@#$ time for me the last 20 years. You cant hit a QB anymore even though half the league now are athletic QBs that leave the pocket in .5 seconds. For whatever reason a player on a football field can be considered defenseless despite rule #1 is to protect yourself at all times (not to mention the QBs should be protecting their receivers.)

Watson accused of sexual assault. I think he deserves a lifetime ban.
Hill gets pulled over and can't follow very simple directions. Talks himself into handcuffs. He should get a lengthy ban too.

Body cam footage of the Tyreek Hill incident.
Both sides definitely are to blame here. Hill undoubtedly was uncompliant (probably because he deals with this all the time) but the cops also definitely escalated it very quickly. I don't know the reason for being pulled over. Did I hear it was because of not wearing a seatbelt? Why were there three motorcycles? Was he speeding? Still a lot of info I don't know.

Let's wait for these to play out before the execution. Once somebody's in the spotlight, others to benefit by accusing. Have heard on some reputable sports-talk shows that there's enough video evidence concerning the Hill incident to blame the cops more than him.Ghost_Lombardi wrote: ↑09 Sep 2024 20:51Watson accused of sexual assault. Video was out last night. He was driving recklessly and then refused multiple commands to roll down the window. In policing parlance he was a clear "No" person, and he got treated as such.Half Empty wrote: ↑10 Sep 2024 10:03Let's wait for these to play out before the execution. when police see a car of such distinction, they should automatically provide escort servicesGhost_Lombardi wrote: ↑10 Sep 2024 11:29Video was out last night. Man a lot of cops are cool but there’s always a few who just have that authority complex. Yeah he didn’t roll the window down when they asked but does that mean he should be ripped out of the car 5s later and cuffed? I’d hate to be the kid of one of these cops. If you ever do anything wrong you getting ur a$$ beat before you can say anything.

Everyone escalated that incident with Hill, including the football players. Hill was obviously speeding in construction. Didn’t look like the reports of 120+ but by the officer stopped him he had passed a good number of cars that were well ahead of him from when he passed the filming officer.
He had his window down asking how fast he was going and when he finally pulled over he rolled it up. Then asks the cop why he was knocking so hard while not rolling it down.
You have to lower it when pulled over. If they’re blacked out it’s going to put cops more on edge when you don’t at least crack them an inch or 2. And rightfully so.
Then he rolls it back up and leaves it up again. WTF did he think was going to happen?
By the time Campbell got involved cops were already at the end. And regardless, my uncle was ordered back in his car and the officer immediately put his hand on his sidearm when he ordered him.
He’s white, saw one of his old wrestlers pulled over on the side of the road coming back from state tournament. He just stopped to see if he was ok or had car trouble. Police do not like people walking up on a traffic stop. Also for good reason. Outside of domestics it’s about the most dangerous situation a cop is in. At the very least people stopping to interject are putting themselves at risk with traffic and at worse can be deadly to the officer.
Pull over open you window, yes sir no sir, argue in court not on the side of the road. These things would all end so much differently if people could follow simple rules.

That video really puts into perspective the fact that 40% of cops are domestic abusers (that we know of, so it's probably actually more).
I think Hill is also an abuser, but nobody is arguing he should be authorized to use state-sanctioned violent force and enjoy legal immunities out the wazoo, yet we do that for countless other maniacs. It's nuts.

Jarred played the first half of the year. Same thing used to happen when Rodgers looked bad. I hated his even twin Al Rodgers.
