He probably has some major mental health problems.

I guess my mini-helmet signed by Doubs, Watson and Reed was wishful thinking. Story isn't over though.
I think an underrated part of this is expectations, realistic or otherwise. Doubs finished last season with really good production and had a strong camp; he toasted Ja a few times. Jaire said he's a Top-2 WR in the game. Love chose him from all NFL receivers alongside Tyreek Hill and Adams while drawing up the perfect pass play.
I think this is about more than just "opportunities" like snaps, routes run, etc. He was being talked up like a WR1 and probably came into this year seeing himself as one, even if MLF wouldn't commit to any receiver being one. And you don't just give WR1 lots of snaps, you feature them, make a point to get them the ball, which we are not doing with him.
I think he was truly expecting to break out this year, put himself in elite receiver conversation. Again, he was being talked up like he is one, and all pro athletes believe in themselves to a supreme degree. The fact he isn't having big games and the gameplan isn't emphasizing him in the pass is probably killing him, in addition to whatever else is going on (mental health or whatever).

I'm pulling for Romeo to fully bounce back and contribute at a high level.
That’s fine he may see himself as a one, but does anyone here??
Doesn’t look more special to me than Reed. Seems to have better hands that Wicks but wicks gets open way more it seems.

This is very unfortunate. With Watson out for at lest this game and Wicks dropping passes he is needed.
I don't think he should worry about his contract. Other teams will know his talent and will offer him a lot of money. But assuming that Watson will be back after this next game, I would be inclined to trade him - for a similar player at a different position. Some other team must have a very deep O-line or ILB, someone who can step in and be a starter after a few weeks. I would not trade for a draft pick as that does not help at all this season.

whether he can play or not, this behavior will all but destroy his trade value. Nobody wants to trade for a loose cannon unless they are actually a #1

2 suspensions of 2 different key players on opposite sides of the ball for conduct detrimental to the team over the past what 8-10 games (over 2 seasons).
Not ideal.

Yeah I will just say you never really heard all this stuff under MM and TT.
Under this regime you had Adams say he would never play for us again. Zadarius got super weird. Rodgers wanted out of here badly. Jaire was acting up. Now you have Doubs.

I think z just was weird. Very up or very down. Probably why he was available, why we let him go and why he’s not with MN anymore.
I don’t think Rodgers wanted out badly, it was the situation, he knew it and nobody liked it. It was time. If we didn’t have love ready and waiting it wouldn’t have been time.
I can hardly think of a top shelf DB who hasn’t made some sort of noise on at leas tone of the teams they’re with.
I don’t remember Adams saying that, he may have, but he never quit playing for this team either. Zero issues with him

And the answer is .......... LaCoach and Nicht-Guten Scheiss/Bumpsten have forced Packers fans to lose confidence in their skill, passion, intensity and drive. The inmates are running the asylum. Aaron Jones is lovin' it kickin' it in MSP. Still the kicker is the kicker. It's a super cluster at 1265.lupedafiasco wrote: ↑06 Oct 2024 10:03Yeah I will just say you never really heard all this stuff under MM and TT.

The kicker still being in the roster is straight up malpractice and inexcusable. Idk how you stick with that after last week. Honestly Carlson was better.

I seriously doubt this effects his trade value. If he wants to be WR#1 and that is the issue and a team needs his talent it will get done, either soon or after the season. We are not in the Lombardi era anymore. This issue is peanuts compared to his value.

Rookie kickers routinely hitting 50+ yard kicks and we hold our collective breath on 35 yarders. Just awful.lupedafiasco wrote: ↑06 Oct 2024 10:56The kicker still being in the roster is straight up malpractice and inexcusable. Idk how you stick with that after last week. It would be hard to do a worse job as GM/STs Coach when it comes to the Packers kicking situation the past 2 seasons.
I have said time and time again that when it comes to football, all I care about is championships. God bless Romeo with whatever issues he's dealing with but at the end of the day, whatever move the organization makes should be about prioritizing championships. It should be the individual players' responsibility to procure the mental health treatment that they may need, if that is an issue. Based on what I know about this situation, I would give Doubs 1 chance. This should be his 1 chance to pull something like this. He is not a #1, but he is good enough that his presence on the field as a #2 or #3 could make the difference in a deep playoff run. Because of this, he gets 1 get out of jail free card. But if it happens again, time to say adios.

I sympathize with these opinions, but:Papa John wrote: ↑06 Oct 2024 11:55I have said time and time again that when it comes to football, all I care about is championships. What if there is another team with 4 guard/centers all of whom are better than anyone we have at RG and 2 of them are still on their rookie contract. They desperately need a good WR, if not a #1 then a very good #2. Do you not talk to them and make the trade for one of the young linemen? Doubs is a very good receiver but the Packers need an upgrade in the Oline more than they need Doubs.
Of course if there is no other team that badly needs Doubs and will pay with similar or more talent, then I totally agree with you, at least until the end of the season.
