I don’t believe he should be babied at 5 years in the league and being paid in the top 5 at QB per APY. At that point you need to perform and carry. 8 INTs in 5 games is atrocious.

That said the big plays are there but he’s been bailed out A TON so far this season.

Houston had tight coverage, I have to consider that with some of the tight windows Love threw into, sometimes forced as well because he was under pressure, but agree, Love has really been hot and cold all season, off target, late to trigger, sure we can blame some of it on pass rush, some also on receivers, but Love owns plenty of it himself.

Mahomes is atrocious. Don't baby him.
To be fair, Mahomes has had a sixth game to chuck up his eight interceptions. So that obviously eliminates his play from being atrocious. Unlike Love. Atrocious.

Side note: Love has more than doubled Mahomes’ TD output in one less game.

I'm not used to this type of yoop being critical of a quarterback.

Overall can't argue you are wrong. Love has had some gaffs for sure.

It's roll reversal  I defended AR often because no one else did, now I'am taking the more critical approach because most defend Love, it's the critarian in me :rotf:

Well to be fair, Rodgers was not great at the start of his 2nd year as a starter either. And he is still playing hurt. I just expected an improvement over what we saw last December and January and so far there is no improvement this season. But hopefully he proves me wrong in the next few weeks and cuts down on the bad decisions and we see some 4-TD with 0 turnover games

people say we are the best pass blocking OL in the league, as for not giving up sacks, that may be true, but I see pressures, and I see Love forced to avoid that pressure, which means he's moving while also trying to find open receivers, which means his concentration has been interrupted.

we also are seeing to many drops of what are normally catchable tosses, so some of Loves stats are negated because of poor hands (poor hand jobs :rotf: ), but some are just to far off target.

I was just hoping that Love would pick back up doing what he did for the last 7 games or so last season, lack of playing in PS games and then the knee injury set him back, often he looks like he trying to hard to get it right ( to much damn thinking) and self destructs in the process, but he seems to be getting a little better each week, settling in. :aok:

There will always be pressures. You will always see pressures. No offensive line is perfect. The other team plays too... Pressures are not always an excuse for poor QB play...

Do you fully understand what that would look like?

So basically the Cardinals game.

Per Pro Football Reference, we're in the middle of the pack in pressures allowed. Tied 5th best in sacks taken.

PFF did Oline rankings today, and their guys had our Oline ranked 10th and 3rd best respectively, especially praising the pass pro.

Overall, I don't think this is a legendary OL, one that will get a cool nickname and stuff. But it is a solid line, which is impressive considering the cost: Just one 1st round pick spent, and the entire OL costs 28M against the cap, 2M more than one Kenny Clark and same as Penei Sewell's yearly average.

He was playing at an MVP level during December and January, and if he hadn't missed 2 games this year, he would most likely be leading the NFL in TD's and be in the MVP conversation as well. I want less INT's too, but an improvement over MVP level play is a mighty tall ask.

I think he's gunna be okay. I know we can't 'baby' him anymore given its his 5th year in the league and he's now one of the highest players in the league, but fact remains he's only had 22 starts, he'll still gain some wisdom. But his ceiling is astronomical if he does in fact gain some.

I love the QB school and this has been my favorite one I've watched. If you guys have not seen this watch it.

Very Complimentary of our pass protection. First INT was just good defense, second INT he may have gotten hit while throwing. The video also discussed how Love could help the line a bit by moving up in the pocket a few times instead of going sideways.

It was reported that fan was ejected from the game after rejecting the leap attempt by Mixon.

Which is BS.

What the hell, @Bogey? ;)
😀 He was un-ejected thanks to cooler heads prevailing. 😀
“GREEN BAY − The Green Bay Packers fan who prevented Houston Texans running back Joe Mixon from doing a Lambeau Leap was allowed to return to his seat after police questioned him, the team told PackersNews.“
The Packers lunatic fringe is more visible because of sheer numbers. The Packers have one of the largest fan bases in all of sports. If the fringe percentage is the same as with other teams, then we end up with larger volumes of nut jobs. - JustJeff

I gotta ask, why did they even feel the need to question him? There was nothing that happened there that required anything to happen

Agreed. He didn't do anything wrong. The Lambeau Leap is a sacred thing to Green Bay and there are actually rules behind it.

Doing the leap is illegal per NFL rules but Commissioner Paul Tagliabue decalared an exemption for Green Bay because it's so specific and iconic to the Packers. I think those rules have now relaxed as other stadiums have them as well.

Current NFL rules allow Lambeau Leap-style celebrations as long as they aren't directed at the opponent and only the player who scored jumps into the crowd. As a visiting team, doing a leap is absolutely directing a celabration at an opponent because there are very few Houston fans in the Leap Zone. Nothing wrong with putting the Texan in his place.

if anyone should be arrested it was Mixon for leaping into a man and his personal space. In Florida they have "stand your ground" laws that would allow the victim who got jumped on to shoot Mixon. Im glad the fan handled it with class.
