This Kansas City team just keeps finding ways to win, but they are really starting to put out some Green Bay 2011 vibes.
The offense of the 2024 (6-0) Chiefs, after losing their top WR and other offensive contributors like RB Pacheco, does sort of remind one of the (15-1) 2011 Packer defense, which lost Nick Collins and was not very good overall.

Of course once key difference between the 2011 Pack and the 2024 Chief teams is that KC has a GM who is not opposed to looking outside the team's own building to add talent to his roster such as Kareem Hunt and now it looks like DeAndre Hopkins. Would not shock me if KC added another piece before the trade deadline.

Don't know that adding these veterans in hopes of winning their third straight Super Bowl victory will work for KC, but I do admire their GM for not just always standing pat.

If makes sense if you believe you're a legit Superbowl contender right now yet you don't trust Sam Darnold not to regress (history supports distrusting Darnold, even when he starts the year strong), whereas Stafford OTOH has shown that when placed on a playoff-caliber team, he can take them all the way. With JJ, Addison, Hock, AJ, he would cook.

I don't think they will make that trade, but I think it's a sound all-in kind of a move.
Because Stafford is playing so much better than Darnold right now.

I think we'd all agree that Ted didn't like the UFA market, were value seldom equals cost.

our problems imho was mostly one dimensional offense, neither of Grant or Starks popped 600 yards, Rodger swa our 3rd leading rusher, which means defenses only had to worry about our passing, even so it took till almost the end of the season till KC decided to just play prevent with deep shell coverage, we basically lacked a short passing scheme because of our dominance throwing deep.

on Defense, our coverage was weaker with the loss of Collins, Peprah though recorded 10 PD's, Williams 22 PD's, Morgan took Collins FS position most of the season and recorded 11 PD's, Woodson 17 PD's NCB Shields 12 PD's, all did there fair share of tackling too, thing is we only had 29 sacks, and I'd bet the pressure totals were also low, heck even the great Collins couldn't help support that lousy pass rush.

and DL and pass rushers are scarce as frogs hair on the FA market, doubt there was any way for Ted to fix the issues we had, maybe a bonafide bell cow RB?

Yup. I sure did. Because Sam was bad in the past he must regress. That's his whole point. He can't possibly stay at the level he is now. And what is his evidence of this regression? He has none. So why should I address it? It's the equivalent of me claiming Love is going to regress. Notice how Mahomes has regressed? He's not the same he was 2 years ago. He wasn't the same last year as the year before. Is anyone talking about him regressing? Does anyone think Mahomes 6 TD's and 8 INTs on the season are why they are undefeated?

So, LA isn't a playoff-caliber team now. What happened? Maybe it has to do with Staffords 3 TD's. Maybe he is the one who regressed. Because his receivers are catching the all at the basic same rate as Darnold. Or did LA change out all their Wr"s?

That's it, I'm starting a thing and calling it "finger bangin'" where I make a fake pistol with my fingers and should" bang, bang" and all my friends instead of saying hello or good bye. Who's with me?

What about it? Darnold still has twice as many TDS as Stafford. And, no, I wouldn't want to swap them. Which was the whole point of the Trade rumors. My prediction. The Rams will split the next 6 games, the Vikes will go 4-2. Packers will split their next 6.

I was going to say, it is already a thing. Couldn't remember from where! Nice memory.

The Packers have a killer stretch right here. Splitting wouldn't be the end of the world, but I will say 4-2 and they pick up a high quality win or two. The Vikings, OTOH, do not have a killer stretch right here. 6-0 is well within their reach and if I were you, I would be awfully disappointed with a 4-2 stretch given their schedule.

Perhaps. But the vikings are NOT a good road team and they have a killer stretch of 3 consecutive road games coming up. They lost on the road to the Rams and now have to travel for the next 3 out of 4 games. The other issue for the vikes is that as the season rolls along, the Flores defense gets figured out. If you look at 2022 and 2023 - the Packers got beaten early on, but absolutely manhandled the vikes the 2nd time they faced them. Look at the end of the vikes 2023 season and they faced 4 good teams and gave up 27,30,33, 30 pts and lost all 4 matchups

So its not only Darnold who will turn into a pumpkin, but also their defense.

Yeah I think we split with Detroit and then we will be favored in every other game. Maybe we drop one that we shouldn't, a typical midseason let down game, but if we split with Detroit and win every game we're favored in, we'll go 5-1 in that stretch.

Vikings losing their LT for the season is HUGE.

Darnold is excellent when he has 5 secs to throw. Not so much when he has 2.5.

This is interesting.

Survive the opening salvo and you're likely to be successful.
